I finally got internet in my barracks, had me in some temporary housing for a while and then lazy civilians at time warner took forever to get over here and set up internets. Once more I have access to the world's largest supply of clockcrew. So- Hows things?

Well, for the past few weeks I've been either playing in trucks designed to withstand an explosion that could level your house and keep rolling or sitting behind the 50cal of a HMMWV. Before that I was doing some other crazy training shit in godawful Missouri for 6 months, and in January I deploy to Iraq. Other than that, not much.

FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK

A lot of people came back when I did, nice to see ya.

Sombra

I miiised you revvie, I got a 1911 and I'll show you some pics of it soon, it's the shit.

RevolutionaryClock

A lot of MPs don't like the M9s we use now- would prefer to have 1911s. Personally I wish the Army would start using glocks.

Sombra

I've fired both, a family member of mine owns the M9, it didn't seem that bad to me but then again it wasn't getting sand and shit in the action so I don't know.

And about Glocks: enjoy your hand grenade lol

RevolutionaryClock

M9 seemed pretty nice when I shot it at the range but apparently has serious issues when not maintained properly. Same can probably be said about the 1911 but apparently to a lesser extent. Main problem with the M9 I've heard is the 9mm round. Since the Army isn't allowed to use JHP rounds and we aren't generally dealing with armored targets the 9mm round just goes clean through people and they keep coming. A .45 is better able to knock them back and do some immediate damage. M9 loaded with FMJ rounds is a poor weapon for law enforcement and even worse for combat. Best use I've heard for it in the field is as a thread. Iraqi military and police under Saddam would use pistols for executions. Pulling out your M9 is a good way to scare the shit out of annoying civilians and clear a nice path in a hurry.

Sombra

Yeah I've never really understood why hollowpoints were banned by the convention, it's like "YOU CAN KILL PEOPLE BUT YOU CAN'T KILL THEM TOO GOOD!"

RevolutionaryClock

The hague convention banned the ammo because at the time forseeable warfare would be fought against organized armies. A) Most soldiers would be wearing protective vests so FMJ ammo made sense. B) When an opposing soldier could be taken out of the fight without killing them this was considered preferable. C) Most people without armor would be civilians so JHP ammo would most likely be best used against them. In the 90's I don't think anyone was counting on the kinda war we have today. =/

What sucks though is that we still can't use this ammo while conducting law enforcement on our own bases in the US. Its kinda messed up that the civi cops in our country have more effective ammo while we deal with people who's training could make them a far more deadly threat.

And he has bullets that the army gave him, and you have to take him down cuz he's gone crazy, like Rambo er somethin; BUT EVIL. WERE WILD WE BE WIDAUT DAT SECYERITY AGENST CRAZEE MILITARY PPL??? WERE. WILD. WE. BE.

Tell me, Rev. Why doesn't the military transport troops in a killdozer and just have us mow down Al-Qaeda bases from the comfort of five feet of concrete and steel?

The Action Film part or the Killdozer part?

RevolutionaryClock

Normally all of a unit's weapons are kept in the arms room unless taken out for training, so its unlikely a soldier could use his weapon to engage local law enforcement and civilians. I'm talking about how it sucks that the Military Police on garrison aren't authorized to use the most effective ammunition for the job making their weapons effectively less powerful than their civilian counterparts.

Because killdozers wouldn't be as survivable against IED's as our ASVs are.

Where are you right now?

Just, reaffirming, I was not one bit serious.

The Killdozer was unaffected after an explosive was dropped into it's exhaust pipe so I highly doubt that.

buttplug

I just looked up killdozer. How have I never heard of this?

It is both awesome and disturbing. It is like something from a fucking horror movie.
