I've got a 16 gig ipod touch. I don't have the app store because I got it for Christmas last year. I think it was worth the investment. The ipods come with the app store. I say go for it.

GodClock

if you ever find one of these

you can replace the hard drive in it with another laptop hard drive. my friend put a 300gb hd in it and therefore had a 300gb hd and it worked.

Well, I would get a classic, But I dont care for it...I only have about 20 gigs of music I ACTUALLY listen to...And Id like to go for style, Just wondering If It will last? Price isn't an issue either...Also, You can like Unlock the ipod to use iphone apps and shit, They call it "JailBreaking" The ipod

aaaaand while you guys argue I sit back relaxing, listening to my small but functional iPod Nano. Its not like I need thousands upon thousands of songs at once: when i want different songs i plug it into my computer. I have to do that to charge it anyway.

It's all about second and first generations.

I want an MP3 player that supports some sort of lossless audio type and has enough storage to contain every CD I own. iPods are famous for their storage, and iTunes can rip as lossless, but apparently the current generation of iPod has some sort of acoustics issue. So at the moment if I want the highest quality possible I have to stick with a nice cd player.

If anyone can recommend me an MP3 player that plays some sort of lossless type and has a fuckhuge harddrive I'd be grateful.

rockbox eh, would that fix the acoustics issues on the current gen iPod? And would it tag my FLACs?

GodClock

Because I'm a filthy picky audiophile. Also I just learned the zune has gapless playback and can hold 120 gigs now. Neat.

My media collection is expanding far too rapidly for this to be suitable. I need a Classic. At least those don't get outmoded in any great hurry.

The Zune might be for you, then. I was considering it, but I decided against it because it hates Macs and because its features will make it way, way too easy to waste my money, like how you can access Zune Marketplace anywhere and buy music you hear on the radio. I'll save myself the temptation.
