I'm pretty much the only one in my house with any decent computer knowledge, and I have my own computer so this isn't affecting me. But, I can't figure out what the hell to do.

My parents' computer is not allowing them on any site that has any email or financial information, in any browser. I tried AOL, IE8, and FF3. You could do more in AOL than IE, and more in IE than FF. In FF I couldn't even get onto Google. I did a pretty hardcore spyware, adware, virus scan to their computer and found almost 20 varying kinds of viruses ranging from trojans, which made up the majority, to a dialer and some really weird things like that. But there were about 12 trojans on this computer. It's also been horribly slow, and it's not exactly a new computer but we just added RAM a few months ago and a new hard drive (80 gb) about a year ago. It's an XP Compaq Presario computer, and I'm stumped.
It's only certain sites, what the hell should I try?

Uninstall and re-install every browser, make sure virus protection is allowing them to access the internet, rape bill gates, defragment, rape bill gates again.

I'll see if that works!

AlbinoClock

How does it connect to the internet? Wifi? Hardline?

If what you're doing right now isn't working, I have a quick fix.
Start > run > type msconfig

Go into selective startup and attempt to remove the evil. If you're lucky, or you remember the names from the antivirus program, then certain things will stand out. If you can restart then you didn't remove anything vital; if the viruses are still about after restart then lather, rinse, repeat.

If this is too hard then diagnostic startup should still allow the computer to run unhindered, if not a bit spartan. I used to do this kind of stuff to get rid of viruses before I got my own computer.

Why are you assuming its viruses? It sounds more like a networking problem to me.

Antivermins says it's true so don't argue.

In a really dumb way, I'm Hardlined and I have a laptop, and they have a Wireless receiver on the desktop upstairs.

HOWEVER, I do know they are getting internet, as you can go on some sites but not others.

Solenoid: I can try that, nothing really seems to work anyway.
