Can someone please explain to me how jesus dying for our sins somehow obsolves us our past sins?

When i think about it i always get the feeling the message of the story is about forgiveness, however its not about god forgiving man. I interpreted it as s paradigm of the human experience, of the struggle of man thrown into a unfair and cruel world, abandoned by our fathers and coming to term with it, and when jesus finally forgives his father he is set free, and eventually reborn blah blah blah

Is there really a point in asking this question? Marlin is going to probably explain how it frees man and then someone else will be like "no you're gay" when at the end of the day we're all gay faggots who are taking it in the ass.

That's a metaphor, although I'm not sure for what.

yes, the point is to find an answer

and who cares what marlin thinks anyway? he has and imaginary friend who lives in the sky and heaps shame upon him whenever he touches his impotent dry cock.

only someone who hates himself would consider masturbation a sin.

I'm not quite sure I understand your question. Jesus died so that sins may be forgiven, it's not that it forgives all sins but allows us to ask for forgiveness and receive it if we are truly sorry for our sin.

Ok, but how exactly did this allow sins to be forgiven. Did God need convincing? But then he was the one who told Jesus what was going to happen to him, right?

I'm really not the person you should be talking to this about.

Once the Bears lose(as one loss will mean the end of the season, no matter what form) it'll come back up, don't you worry.

Cool, Whipped Cream be back.

And yeah, I never got this but I thought it would be rude to ask a devout Christian to their face when I've had the chance. If someone could explain, that would be appreciated.
BinaryClock, if you wanna play uno type !unohelp to see how to

Read the bible and you'll quickly learn that god is an asshole. That's why he had to make his son die horribly instead of just waving his hand and making sin disappear (yes he could have just done that or he's not god)

To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

this is the most logical answer ive heard so far

and dont get too excited people, im home for the holidays but after that im moving back to gainesville where i dont have a computer or tv or any of that jazz, but i did miss you guys

as far as ive been ive been better, right now im totally broke i havent paid rent for the month of december and i might get evicted in january, i lost my financial aid due to a failing grade, i have no job, and no prospects right now for the future.

but other than that im pretty great, being out in gainesville has put me in touch with myself and has allowed me to pursue the goal of truly bettering myself, as far as plans for the future, i plan to move in with a friend for next to nothing, work full time and save some money, and then back pack through south america for a few months and do some soul searching whille im still young

He came to teach The Word, his whole point wasn't to die, but it is the most important one. I'd say think of him as the ultimate ram for the Jews to give up to God. We eat his flesh and drink his blood and all that stuff, so he seems like a sacrifice for mankind so that sins may be forgiven. He then gave man the power to resolve sin after his death.

But yeah, I don't know completely. You have to have a church near you, ask a priest or something, not the Clock Crew.

Thor

So... what was the point of killing platos playground and making the watercooler again? Something about avoiding religious debates?
