If someone insults a nerd's favorite game, the nerd just goes onto a forum and rants about it, where they can call that person numerous bad names on their MySpace blog page. Some of the nerds fel the urge to act upon it right then and there. Most of those nerds are smart enough not to act upon that urge, because they are usually defenseless, since they probably don't have their gamecube to smash the person's head open with.

Well, if a book was insulted, then the fan of the book would probably ignore it, as they are usually smarter and wouldn't be stupid. They could if they wanted to, seeing as their Harry Potter 20-pounder could probably beat off some shit, but a book-fan is an intellectual, and will usually understand another's opinion.

tl;dr= Nerds are rageful, but don't stand a chance acting on it. Bookworms could act on it, but don't want to.

What if a nerd liked a book, and someone insulted it?

QuoteI remember hearing about kids getting beaten up for their Pokemon cards back during the craze.
 This puts Pokemon to shame.
You’ve probably heard the term "rabid fan" used to describe girls disturbingly obsessed with whatever hottie caught their fancy.  Twilight fangirls, however, take the cake.  Some unfortunate individuals who stated that they didn’t like the Twilight series, sometimes in a very calm and reasonable manner, have found themselves physically assaulted.
 Quotes from TwilightSucks.com, emphasis mine.
At this point Kylie peered away from her book, and says "Do you like the Twilight series?" My high school friend/girl/person(Gail) looked away and answered "Oh it’s okay"
And just like every other story, Kylie freaked, at her ‘okay’ remark. Started making a scene at the back of the bus, saying "Twilight is awesome, how could you hate it… and so on…" At this point I was just watching, I wasn’t in the mood for a rant off. Then, Kylie closed her book and hit Gail across the head. Everyone in the back of the bus was in shock, honestly I was speechless.
Another student was burned with a cigarette for making her opinion known:
Today in english class I was bored so I wrote "Twilight Sucks" on my arm (yeah, mature I know.)
I’m walking to the cafeteria at lunch and I stop in the bathroom to fix my hair and there’s a girl smoking in there. She sees my arm, grabs it, and jabs her lit cigarette into my arm. It hurt like shit (and it still does). And yes, I did report her.
  Fans broke this student’s arm:
     The books were fucking stupid.
I told this to my friend, who agreed with me. But there was this girl in our class named Louisa who is a total twitard that overheard us talking. She argued with me and when she couldn’t force me to love the book, she stormed off.
When I was walking home from school, Louisa and her friends jumped me. Three of them held me down, while Louisa (whose heavy-set) jammed her knee into my arm and pulled on it until it snapped. They ran off when a woman came out of house yelling at them that she had called the cops.
They shattered my arm in two places. The doctor said it could take over a year before I get back full usage of my left arm.

Are you floored yet?  I was.  The full versions of these horror stories (and more) can be found here.
Fans, I hope you realize that isn’t right.  This madness has got to stop.  If things keep going this way, it’s only a matter of time before someone ends up dead for exercising their constitional right of free speech.

This happens, Clock Crew. THIS. HAPPENS. I swear to god if someone tries to defends those Twitards... And I know someone will so let's cross the bridge when we come to it.

Kaspersky gave me a Phishing attack prompt (which I denied)
I'm not going back to the site, and I don't know how dangerous it is, but rather be safe then sorry.

Although overreacting because of a shitty book is stupid, the first story kinda made me laugh a bit.

I got a prompt for additional plugins, I didn't download it. Added the page in a quote just to be safe.

Also, this made me laugh. Kids and their silly cults...

Quote from: Twitard Victima while ago i admitted to a group of twilight freaks that i hate the series and ever since they had been whispering and i heard my name and twilight hater a couple times we played soccer one day and one of the fan girls kicked a soccer ball at my head when and i did not have a chance to react then another kicked a ball at my head
"this is'nt dodge ball its soccer!"
"heh so, until you realize the truth about twilight we won't stop" i walked away as they kicked the ball at me a third time knocking me over and giving me a huge head ache so after the incident i had an ice pack.

i'm a bit worried about what they could do next

My roommate is a Twilight fan.  I think he owns every book by that bitch.  Then again, he's a homosexual and is not to be counted as a human being.  (I mean that honestly)

I read the twilight series... only took a couple days, it was very light reading.

It was a terribly predictable series, the second book was crap... The fourth made up for it... And sure I enjoyed it... I wouldn't watch the movie, cause it looks shitty... But I enjoyed the little books.

I read The Host as well (written by the same chick, about aliens), but it wasn't nearly as entertaining.

But... damn, this is ridiculous...

I suppose it's bound to happen, any time a large group of mindless teens like something.

Hrm... I guess it's the Twilight-hate bandwagon that just makes all of this noticed. I bet Halo 3 has things like this happen all the time, but nobody wants to spill the beans.
