You know in retrospect i really didn't like Mass Effect as much as it thought i did while playing, i can't even bring myself to play the DLC which i downloaded like 8 months ago. I think it was the insanely boring side quests and virtually similar planets and buildings that put me off. If they manage to fix that and take out that lame tank ill probably buy it. Because the immersion, story and gameplay in the main story where great.

I have the exact same problem with Overlord, whose DLC i also haven't played yet.

i watched my brother play mass effects

i had to help him with unlocking the pyramid shit
it seemed like a boring game although i am still going to play through it at some point.

the first game was OK
I basically played the shit out of it, and enjoyed everything except for the combat. (I could see what they were trying to do, and I prefer it to kotor's system, but it was just flawed enough to make the final boss sorta uninteresting, which is, like, so terrible.)

I heard you can finally be gay in the second one, so yeah.

honestly? it sort of is. not exclusively, but it's part of the reason I bought the Fable games, too.

not for the sex scenes, mind.

wrpgs are just more enjoyable when I can relate to the main character, and in shephard's shoes I probably wouldn't be too interested in ashley, or liara, or the asari consort.

I'll stop before I end up writing a 40 paragraph treatise on patriarchal paradigms in pop culture, rescuing the princess, and how all of elton john's love songs are about women, but hopefully you can see what I'm saying.

Im honestly surprised at how many people dislike mass effect. I became obsessed with it to be honest. The whole idea of it seemed awesome and almost plausible to me.

Find alien artifacts on mars,
Discover that these aliens have a mass relay just outside your galaxy
Use that mass relay, discover thriving alien civilization
Punch a reporter in the face, then fuck my asari whore.

Probably one of the most immersive games of this generation in my opinion..

KotOR was the most immersive game of this generation, but I liked the combat system in Mass Effect a lot more.

Needless to say I played the shit out of Mass Effect and got all achievements.

Mass Effect is probably the best game in recent memory, I love the whole boundless univurse and I don't give a horses ass about those woman who cry about the Mac's handeling; I NEVER got stuck, not even when I was in a godamn ravine that was 90 degress on all sides. The handeling was awesome and so was everything else.
