I still think that's the worst game in the series. I didn't kick it out of bed, so to speak, and it's obviously better than the pre-Double Dash days if you account for graphics and frame rate, but it was a pretty huge disappointment.

It's growing on me, but I don't have a lot to work with. I still play the N64 version and the only other one I played was the original. THAT BEING SAID, turning on manual drift made it feel a lot more like the '64 version, and I liked that, and when I started using the classic controller, I finally started kicking ass at it. After using the plain wiimote and motion controls in automatic, this feels like I'm working with a spaceship console, and learning the drifting was a lovely experience full of crashing into walls and falling off the level, but then it finally clicked and it was like the last scene of the Speed Racer movie except with mini-turbo boosts instead of sad japs

tl;dr i like it because i don't suck at it any more

Slurpee

Pretty accurate. This game, more than any of the others, makes it too easy to win by chance.

I'll happily admit that hearing that makes me really psyched to play the others, because the bullshit readings frequently fly off the charts. Sometimes even when I win I feel like that was bullshit

The biggest problem was that they increased the opportunities for people to get to first but decreased the defensive opportunities for the player in first.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Double Dash and 8 when you get to them. DD might be weird at first, but the character switching adds a layer of strategy that's really fun and useful when you get used to it. And 8 is super awesome. Da best.

I'm gonna get 8 eventually. Maybe even soon, since I START MY NEW JOB ON FRIDAY wooyay

And yeah. I think the only other game I ever used the rearview mirror view was Snowboard Kids 2. I always have a banana or turtle shell hanging out of my ass for shells, and I'm super paranoid watching my back for stars/other BS/people trying to draft off of me

That makes me wonder if the new site counts posts in this thread.

I should have looked at my post count before I posted that. If it does, this will be 2400 for me.

I don't know what that means, but... yeah.

I'm having a hard time training myself to type out .net instead of just going straight to .cc because it's what my browser thinks i want to do.

I have the What's New link for this site as my first bookmark, so I can just hit cmd+1 to bring it up

Try doing that and pressing ctrl+1?

Yomuchan

I just put clockcrew.net on my firefox bookmarks.

I just have the What's New page set to one of the tabs that's opened automatically when
I open Chrome so I never have to worry about actually going to it. I'm that lazy.

I love a place where I can talk about how inspirationally lazy I am and then immediately get shown up big time
