In bold the episodes I had already watched recently. Cocoaphrages definitely belongs on the above list, but I didn't feel like looking up the spelling (whitch, 4 te bygest tread, y?) ... I watched Field Trip on your recommendation and even though I remembered it, it was good. I'll check out the others.

X-Files has a lot of dud episodes, so binging can be a slog, so my new approach of cherry picking episodes is a lot more fun. When it's good it's up there with some of the best television ever.

The cold opens to Paper Hearts and Jose Chung's have been etched into my memory since childhood, when I caught them on TV late at night in bed. All up to the BOOPIE DOOP DOOP *BING* TU DU DI DU DI DUUUuuu... Scramble to change the channel, because this is too scary for my prepubescent ass. Which I get for Paper Hearts, but he he heheheh Jose Chung's...?

Also I found out that I prefer the episodes that take place in small towns for some reason. Those small towns from all over the U.S. that all look vaguely Pacific Northwesternish.

I watched the Bourne Supremacy last night and when they pick up Nicky in "Amsterdam" I was like "No, that building's shade of yellow of is way too German for this to be filmed in Amsterdam... The window frames don't look right..." Which is a very useful skill I guess?

I was drooling over Winona Ryder’s Pinto so I started trying to do the math on what the chances are you will be involved in a rear end collision. Apparently 28% of collisions are rear end collisions, but finding an actual statistic for your likelyhood of being in a vehicular collision is extremely difficult. A lot of ‘there are x many accidents’ ‘y number of fatalities’ and so on.

So, in conclusion, the car exploding when hit in the arse is no big deal.

then I think about how I got rear-ended in my old car, another non-explosive used sedan, and I didn't really give a shit when the trunk was bashed in and it was "totaled"

New gorillaz album leaked recently. It's alright. Pretty good even. It's certainly nice to hear an album where 2D actually sings and it isn't just damon albarn producing for artists his daughter likes. musically it reminds me a little of the fall if it was fleshed out more instead of just a couple fully realized songs and some atmospheric bits and song scraps he did while on tour. a little bit of the calmer tracks off d-sides too. the purely instrumental bits are actually really good, versus the fall's bits just being decent. idaho could have easily been a vocal track off the fall actually, the lyrics and style match up perfectly. the overall album does have some of the same issues as the fall, but not to the same degree. Some tracks are a bit forgettable and the whole album feels a little samey. That might change after a few more listens as I notice the subtleties to each track. also like the fall it's good background music, and I don't mean that in a bad way. It's some real chill shit. on the universal flounderman scale of flounderman is right, I rank it [more "finished" than the fall and better than humanz by virtue of not being humanz] out of 10.

also also  just beat Prey Mooncrash. Fun shit, I thought it was pure gameplay and no story but then it does pick up as you progress. not many worthwhile notes or audio logs though, they're mostly pointless or just there to tell you where an item/objective might be. for a game like this I kinda expect those you know?  But it's forgivable. the gameplay is good too, I was really skeptical about the whole simulation bit and the corruption level mechanic, hearing the word "roguelite" didn't fill me with confidence either but everything just clicks really well. there's a real sense of constant progress to it. alex's new voice actor is fucking terrible though, like someone imitating him to mock his voice. that's my only real complaint about the game though, it's good sci fi monster smashing fun overall. I hope they get the original guy back for Prey 2 whenever they get around to that. He was the most memorable character in base game and the his voice actor was a large part of that. besides maybe january.

it turns out I have a copy of the second-rarest n64 game in the world, the blockbuster rental exclusive "sculptor's cut" of clayfighter for the n64

it's worth about $400 even in the shitty condition it's in, because as a blockbuster exclusive there are literally no copies that are not in shitty condition

it was temperamental at the best of times and I understandably have not played it in a long time, so I'm scared I'll plug it in and find out it doesn't work. that's a lot of beer money

I got an unopened Super Metroid like ten years ago at a flea market for like $10, and EVEN THEN it was multiple hundreds (just not too many) of dollars.



I opened it and, while the full-color manual was there, there was a huge rip across the cover page. Someone just resealed it. Good thing I decided I wanted to play it that badly
