fucked around with twine today. you can't even have images or music unless you host it offsite, and you have to make the newgrounds submission height as long as the longest passage in the game. I thought it was gonna let me make some terrible visual novel but instead I made some kind of flounderzork. kinda want to actually make this quick and dirty experiment into a full text adventure with puzzles and a narrative, but eh, I'm better off figuring out rpgmaker. I told myself I'd do that months ago I gotta get that shit done. newgrounds needs more garbage spam jrpgs. THE WORLD needs more garbage spam jrpgs.

the NG submission height thing is weird, maybe the tuts don't get into it, but in games like this linked from the twine homepage it seems like text can either be cumulative and autoscroll to the bottom, or clear the screen if desired

renpy 7.4 apparently officially supports html exports if you were still thinking VN, but i'm not gonna discourage you from making a spam jrpg

oh cool it didn't have that the last time I checked. and I made the submission even longer if you wanna try scaling the pillar, I think it has something to do with monitor resolution but this should take precedence over that I think? I'm sure there's some sort of code I can add to make the text scroll but this might work for now.

hummingbirds are adorable little jerks. I've never seen one actually pull another off the feeder like that but all the ones who come to my feeder chase each other all the time even if there's plenty to go around, and they get in my face when there's no food left too, they're not even afraid of me.
