dude Gary and Giovanni are both fucking terrible at Pokemon wtf

• Gary sends out Nidoking, even though he's part Poison type and Viridian is a Ground-type gym
• Giovanni responds with Golem, a Rock-type, even though Nidoking is also part Ground type and Rock is weak against Ground
• they both instruct their pokemon to use Tackle (even though Nidoking shouldn't even have Tackle and should at a minimum have Double-Kick, which is ~70% more powerful and would have had type advantage)
• Giovanni is somehow so bad at Pokemon that his Golem just dies immediately to one Tackle despite Golem having the third strongest base defense in gen 1
• Giovanni sends out Kingler. this might be the only sane decision either of them makes
• Nidoking goes down easily, so Gary sends out... Arcanine
• instead of annihilating him with another Crabhammer, Giovanni just sits there for a while while Gary's Arcanine uses Take Down (self damage), Fire Spin (type disadvantage (also does  damage over several turns and should have been used first)), and Fire Blast (type disadvantage) and Kingler finally goes down
• Giovanni sends out FUCKING MEWTWO, who immediately uses an unspecified telekinetic attack on Arcanine without being told. Giovanni then offers to solo a dual battle for absolutely no reason
• Gary sends out his injured Nidoking (weak against Psychic ) and keeps his injured Arcanine out
• Gary looks on in stunned disbelief as his brilliant battle strategy of shouting "go!!!" at the only two pokemon he brought fails somehow
