Wow. I suppose he's more to explosions than implosions.

Jontron theme no longer lost to the sands of time, has about ten seconds more than the original. I can't believe I E-stalked someone for that.

note to self: set next military fiction novel in alternate universe where all vessels are named by middle schoolers, with no screening process whatsoever

follow action-packed adventures of dashing young Ensign Bruce "Chuck" Leicestershire aboard the USS Ass Whipe, a Justin Is A Gaywad-class destroyer
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

This is no good, I keep thinking VCR is MFC with that avatar

Of course the building fire alarm would go off for the first time in my almost three years here at midnight during one of the coldest streaks ever. Of course.

You should be able to tell by how cold it is that you're not on fire. Go back to bed.

I wasn't sleeping, and I would ask to go back in if the alarm wasn't still going off. It's really, really, really fucking loud.

If you weren't so sure you weren't sleeping, I'd say you're just dreaming the whole thing

If I weren't so sure I wasn't sleeping I'd be pissed that this shirty dream has been going on for an hour. :|

At the three hour mark, the alarms are turned off. I ask a guy in one of the five maintenance trucks if it's safe to go back inside (because I could tell from my car that there was some kind of flooding and they'd been pumping water out most of this time). He says he's not sure, but I could go in and ask. I follow the large hoses through the door and see that he hallway has at least an inch and a half of water in it, and water is dripping from vents and lights in the ceiling. I make my way to the stairs, and there is water trickling down them from the third floor, where my apartment is.

I knew that the problem was in the apartment diagonal from mine, because I could see them working on it from my car. There are five maintenance guys and two people who work for my apartment complex standing outside the door that has two of the large hoses piped through it, sucking water out. There is less water in this hall, but still at least a half an inch. No one acknowledges my presence, so I step up when the two apartment complex workers start to leave.

"Is it safe to go back to our apartments now?"
"Well, not until the alarms have stopped."
"But the alarms have stopped. That's why I came in." I'm not sure how she couldn't tell that they had stopped, because, as mentioned, they are fucking piercingly loud.
"Well, no. You're technically not supposed to go back to your apartment yet."
"I'm going back to my apartment."
"Which apartment is yours?"
I point to the door that is six feet away."
"Well I guess you can go back, but technically you're not supposed to go back. They might come in to get water out of your apartment."
"Ok, thanks."

I enter my apartment. Dry as a mummy's vajayjay. Phew.
