So I was talking to my ex-roommate about relaxing videos and he shared this guy

[u2]psgXEVK9pbc[/u2]

I feel like there are a couple of people here interested in this sort of thing, at least to fall asleep to or for background noise if not to actually emulate, but I can't actually put my finger on who so here it is anyway

Call it naïveté if you will but I still think the way Newgrounds project management system was such a broken mess after the 2012 redesign is the major blunder that the site has never recovered from. I remember it being almost if not totally impossible to submit stuff for at least a few weeks. Of course I was in high school then and time seemed to move a lot slower.

In any case I think if you were to graph activity on NG you would see the decline start following that launch.

while i understand the logic in your argument, i dont think that this is the sole reason as to why NG went on a demographic decline, in terms of new visitors/members...

while the blunders of 2012 CAN be a possible reason, its one of the many reasons for NG's decline, and not the main reason.

-another good reason for NG's decline is that, after 2005, with the coming of youtube, many people turned over to youtube for creating/watching shows, and many animators chose to upload their works in there too, due to the larger rewards/payment-per-views-system, and the larger audience that is consistently growing on youtube.

ironically, tom fulp actually wanted to create a ''video-hosting/uploading'' portal here on NG since... 2003?
the point is: if he did that, he would now be a global (internet) superpower.

along with a large part of the crowd turning over to youtube (over the years), an other important reason is:

-the fact that young people today are NOT fond of flash animations, (at least not as the previous generations were...), and to add insult to injury, those young people prefer browsing the net with their smartphones/tablets, thus limiting the options for solely PC-oriented sites...

(thankfully tom fulp created a NG APP, but im always anxious about that. will it work? i hope that it doesnt have any glitches.)

aaand, one recent reason is:
-the music crusade.
as we all know, this music massacre, this music embargo has damaged not only the audio choices for people, but it has also damaged our creativity(to a small extent), our options(to a large extent), and our ability to combine visual puns with famous music... (its sad.)

for all the reasons above, and for some more things, the NG realm is suffering.
i hope that it will overcome those problems, because its a great place, and it deserves to be alive, recognized AND well-established.

PS: note that all those ''reasons'' are not tom's fault...
they are just misfortunes and bad events that have damaged the site, with one way or an other.

PPS: rob, comics and subway sandwitches are NOT a bad investment. calm down, mang.

The bit about the poetry slam cracked me up

I remembered there was no Clock Day medals for 2015 and 2016 and all I care about is having E-trophies, so I tried making some. I figured they didn't have to be great, it's not like medals are under any scrutiny. Gonna do 2016 first because CD15 would be an easy motif

yeah so pixel art is really hard

to rephrase, art is hard and I was trying the pixel kind just now.

this is the first one I was happy with, but still isn't very good. and were attempts to make it look better (I actually do like the last one) but the weak link is how bad the XV looks. in case someone can engrave worth a deng. Also, if you're wondering why I was so happy with these, it's because my first attempt looked like so really anything would've been an improvement.

also yes they are way too wide because I have no artistic integrity. Would start over again but I'm seeing a pattern, here

Heard someone post about Spaceballs 2 being a possibility, googled it to find EVERY NEWS SITE SHITTING ALL OVER THEMSELVES TALKING ABOUT SPACEBALLS 2, watched the interview, "yeah maybe"

ok, so on what side of the political spectrum are the liberals (centre-right?), and which are their core differences from conservatives?

also: i agree with phantomcat, we NEED to make/award the clockday 2015/2016 medals.
its our holy duty!

the terms are actually meaningless on a global scale because they don't represent coherent consistent philosophies, just whatever party happens to have grown most associated with the descriptor in the continually unfolding political landscape of their respective countries at any given moment

a safe bet in the case of either term is that they're a set of philosophically diverse individuals that sacrificed integrity on the altar of political necessity, reducing a boundless world of socioeconomic thought into rival sports teams out of a desperate need to consolidate their philosophically untethered constituents into reliable voting blocs by saying things that make them feel good about whatever they already believed regardless of its basis in reality

People want definitive, narrow, opinionated answers. You'd be a terrible politician

Clockalope

That was a legit explanation Slurpee. So legit i logged in to give you my once a year comment, you earned it.

Yeah, when someone says "the answer is really neitherâ€"it's both, whatever your heart tells you and it changes all the time" even when they're right it's not right enough

Do you think your answer made poor BB10 any smarter

you are mayor, though. THAT'S how you politic someone. Voted for again.

conservatives say they want to save the AR33 for the Xenia fight but end up using the PP7 on her and all the machine gun turrets because they don't want to waste precious nades

liberals don't even wait until there are things to aim at, they use their ammo as soon as they see it

conservatives would rather eat their entire stock of Rocket Pops to use the sticks to build a bridge over a dry river for their armored humvees instead of go two miles south to the crossing

liberals used a pencil

conservatives think cutting in line should get you kicked out of a theme park but also think that the "YOU MUST BE THIS TALL" sign is more of an ignorable suggestion than a safety concern

liberals say they'll ban BB10 forever but let him off the hook after a couple months

conservatives believe that banks are a scary idea but a necessary evil

liberals make balloon animals out of condoms

conservatives are okay with destroying the world because they honestly believe that the Rapture is happening soon so we don't need to conserve anything anyway

liberals are okay with destroying the world because black people are on it

conservatives only speak one language and can't be mages, wizards, sorcerers, or exotic dancers

liberals can be any class but don't get bonus traits for leveling up

conservatives think the Internet is evil and should be turned off

liberals believe in the space program

conservatives are liberals

liberals are liberals

conservatives prefer action-comedy but will sit through chick flicks at home where nobody can see them watching it

liberals make better movies anyway

phantomcat for mayor 2017 except in september when we do that
