I finally started going to therapy because of my own issues with diminishing sanity, but other than that I've just been working on my degree and teaching. I'm currently in the middle of grading a million end-of-semester assignments so I need little breaks to regain my composure and I figured I'd check out the ol' CCBT. This used to be the best place for brain dumping.

That's cool. You mean the murder shack? You plan on doing any gardening? And I don't mean rake some leaves or whatever. I mean designing, building and planting a garden. It's like a sandbox for adults. I'd like to, but I live in an apartment.

I'd learn how to build brick walls, tile floors and dig ponds. Depending on the size, maybe even a small stream with a little bridge. 

And I don't mean like one of those fruity gardens where everything has to be tidy and the dude takes a ruler to cut the grass. I'm talking overgrown, dark, damp and mossy. Did you know that you can smear yogurt on a wall or whatever to make it mossy? Most gardens look like it was grown on an empty lot. I'd want it to look like a cave of green cut out of dense existing forest.

I can't really find any good examples because I'm unfamiliar with the lingo. (Like when you google "dark garden" it's just a shitty garden at night.) Anyone seen Secret Garden?

I try to curb the aesthetic desires at this early of a stage because I need to focus on the necessities otherwise I’m going to get lost in the weeds and in over my head. There’s a brook that runs through the yard about forty feet back from the house that I want to build a little bridge over and put a fire pit next to.
