I just googled it and clicked around. Mayo and wikipedia and shit I think. It didn't outright say he'd go BLIND blind but apparently it can degenerate his vision to a point of "poor quality of life" which sounds like "legally blind" to me. Not reaaaaallllly blind but kinda. But the more I look at it now it seems like not everyone goes that far? Prognosis is less awful than I thought sorry for being fatalistic after a cursory google. And even if it does I imagine eye treatment will be better by then. Get him some ghost in the shell eyes.

oh quality of life is an umbrella term
like, people who were molested as kids usually have poor "quality of life". it doesn't mean they're like destitute or can't live mostly normal lives, it's just a way of talking about all these little, difficult-to-quantify problems that add up to a less comfortable day-to-day life

I think the quality of life stuff for kc is mostly due to light sensitivity and the good news is I've been dealing with that for years
it mostly just gives me horrible migraines, which usually go away after a nap, and sometimes it makes the outside look like uh you know how the playstation 3's graphics weren't a significant enough improvement over the ps2's to justify the price so for the first like 2 years they tried to make every game's graphic's look better by smothering them in bloom?

that's what outside looks like to me on a sunny day (except the dragons are not as hot)
I don't drive but if I did I would probably be a danger to myself and others, the sidewalks look like zuul's fridge

it also makes it hard to stare at a screen for very long, which sucks when your school, work, and leisure time all involve staring at a screen. I've been setting an alarm for every 20 minutes to remind myself to give my eyes a break (my optometrist would prefer if everybody did this but I think it's kind of like how dentists would prefer if everybody would brush after every meal)

I don't really know how to talk about stuff that negatively affects me personally, how am I doing? I always feel like I'm being an annoying little pussy lol
basically it just kind of sucks, but it always kind of sucks, and that's quality of life

You can't put them on, yourself, either. You just need to refresh your inventory until it jumps onto a petpet.
