isn't that the america's only native marsupial

Slurpee

it's the chief export of Kazakhstan according to the fake Kazakhstan national anthem from the movie Borat, but that's not important right now

play my PUZZGRID©™
https://puzzgrid.com/grid/83068

puzzgrid is based on the final round of the uk gameshow Only Connect
the goal is to read my freaking mind and separate this grid of 16 words into four categories of four words each based on some completely random fucking thing they might have in common (such as they all rhyme, or they're all the last names of presidents, or they all contain a diphthong, etc)

Slurpee

update: I fucked up making my PUZZGRID

it has been FIXED

PhantomCatClock

I matched two groups but ran out of time, then identified three groups for a total of five points

What a cool idea

Slurpee

right? cool fun little distraction. everybody should enjoy puzzgrid imo. tell your friends

I scored a cold zero and felt real dumb

I made one for dummies like myself: https://puzzgrid.com/grid/83115

I scored a 3 I think because I was too busy cackling. amazing categories

PhantomCatClock

I got five, but was only able to correctly name one group

The second group was my madness paying off, then the third one was me guessing

Quote from: Slurpee on September 17, 2023, 01:34:26 PMthere's been an increase in the local coyote population which led to a decrease in the feral cat population (for exactly the horrible reason you're thinking) which led to in increase in the rat and mouse population which led to rats and mice eating our damn tomatoes

It is your solem duty to shoot coyotes and release feral cats into the area surrounding your home

PhantomCatClock

california deserves coyotes tho

come stop our new english coyotes

RobClock

How'd you make out in the hurricane, pcat? Did it hit you?

PhantomCatClock

the thunderstorm on Friday before last hit us exactly for from when I left the work parking lot to when I made it home

RobClock

it was a downpour here for about an hour saturday morning, with blue skies by the afternoon. I think PEI got it hard but I don't know for sure.

Capercon, Cape Breton's crummy nerd convention, was this past weekend, and I sold some stickers there!

The local bookstore owner also told me she would sell them which is groovy. What wasn't groovy was when I printed the second batch, the printer jammed before it cut the stickers individually from the sheet which lead to me taking two and a half hours to do so by hand  :suicide:

I don't think I posted at all about the new Gamera animated series on Netflix? It's really good, dude. 6 episodes, revisits every Showa era film enemy aside Baragon. Animation is kinda sketchy, especially in the first episode, and its cheap 3D rigged models but given it's been 17 years since the last Gamera movie, I was more than willing to accept a low budget.

wow! did you sell many? i was at comic con northern ireland a week or two ago, in lisburn. it's the first year they've held it, and it was pretty cool! there was a ton of cool stuff at the marketplace, and some pretty big stars showed up too.

the whole red dead redemption 2 cast was there, as was sean astin and elijah wood. i didn't get any photos with any of them or anything because you had to buy extra tickets though. however i did peep mara wilson from afar.

i also got a copy of mr driller for the dreamcast and held a copy of paper mario 64 with my own TWO HANDS. all in all a cool day :D

it was way too hot though! like jesus christ initially i was gonna dress up as postal dude but thank the good lord i lost the costume because it was like an oven in there.

0 during the countdown, got 2 at the end but the computer was very lenient with me on one of them
clever though

speaking of nerds, the only reason I got any of the sets is because I've seen enough episodes of onlyconnect to know that if you're sure about two, systematically mashing every combination containing them is a viable strategy if you have no honor

16 tiles - the 2 you're certain about = 14 remaining
14 choose 2 = 91 possible combos
mashing a combo only takes about a second with a touchscreen, maybe a little more, but you'll probably find it well before exhausting every combo, so ballpark a minute and a half

doing that once reduces the pool to 12 tiles, so if you're sure about 2 more
10 choose 2 = 45

that leaves you about 30 seconds to figure out the remaining two, which is about what I had. and I was like aaaaaaaa

I got to this uh, theme, starting out thinking I'd be too clever by far and come up with categories where three members would obviously seem to fit together and the fourth one would be a red herring for another category.

so I started out with spoiler because I could make them seem like spoiler, and I was about to try and make spoiler the red herring of that group, next creating the category on which my entire puzzle is based, but then realizing that it wouldn't work because spoiler.
