<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

Now he's asking me questions about scientology and about "DXOCFBIA QXIB LC QTL HFQQFBP."
And threatened me with a shoe and a broken bottle.

Quote from: Slurpee on July 29, 2024, 01:43:23 AMdelicious in dungeon (manga and anime) and pluto (manga and anime) were very good. if you're looking for an anime or manga to enjoy I recommend pluto and delicious in dungeon
haven't read dungeon meshi in delicious yet but I've seen some of the evil lion guy's forms and holy shit that's some good monster design so it's on my to do list. my natural contrarianism makes me want to avoid all rpg inspired series from the 2010s on but it seems better. plus I watched mahoujin guru guru and plan to watch lodoss so I might as well. right after lodoss (I want to play the castlevania style game) I'll read pluto at some point I swear to god.

I just read nikaido hell golf and was thoroughly entertained. it's a current series by the kaiji/akagi guy. the story about this guy who's mildly good at golf that spends decades trying to win the preliminaries so he can be a real golfer in the japanese pro circuit to the point of robbing his own mother for the entry fee and leeching off a golf club the entire time. the scale of it is insane, there's a timeskip by a year or two every few chapters it feels like. you really get to live this guy's hyper focused and irrational life.

dunno if this counts but I liked this autobiographical story about japanese prisoners of war in ukraine. surprisingly upbeat. not nearly slaughterhouse five pow upbeat but far less miserable than you'd expect. https://kiuchi.jpn.org/en/nobindex.htm

best recentish things I've read in the last few years in general were golden kamuy and souboutei must be destroyed. the former is like a western "find the gold" story but in japan. it was great to read weekly since every chapter told a full story with a beginning middle and end, rather than how normal weekly series do it where they just cut up a scene into weekly releases. on top of that every character is the best character.

souboutei is everything I like about manga all at once and it all casually exists and blends together. it's like putting all the sodas in the same cup but it's actually good and you can notice the flavors individually. if there's anything I want you to draw from this is that souboutei is a haunted mansion and it needs to be nuked off the face of the earth. with a combination of the military, exorcists, ghost busters who punch ghosts to death, martial artists, and a struggling painter. both series have some of my favorite villains ever too. tsurumi and deiodo are the best. wise bastards too, I love reading their dialogue.

Can you see it? Do you see that beautiful bright light? There it is. Oh, that's the sun. Don't stare directly into that.

I kept the hug coupon and played with one fewer inventory slots than I should've had for the whole game but I didn't get the hug at the end of Little Inferno. I still have the coupon post-ending, no cheev, and nobody else has even had this problem so I can't google it. what the hell :(
