Look maybe our standards of artistic integrity are different, and maybe you can hear the song "one way or another" without thinking of swiffer, but what this is basically doing is making this stuff video game music for kids. It wouldn't be the first time (or even the tenth time) I've talked about music with someone and instead of discussing the song itself they would say "Oh man this song so easy on guitar hero."

It's okay to like the game but just admit that's what it is, don't act like it's some great service to the artistic world that they're doing because it isn't.

I'll be the first to admit it's a game and nothing beyond that, which is why you shouldn't really give a crap. The people who play it know it's a game that isn't tantamount to any musical ability.

I've never been in the situation described in the bolded text so maybe you're just talking to boring people.

My opinion not involved in the argument:
I love The Beatles, and I think Rock Band is great fun, so it seems like a winning combination, and I'm glad some of the younger generation is going to get to hear them (as I've met people who have never listened to The Beatles).
My only concern is that, when Guitar Hero 3 came out, I heard Dragonforce's "Through The Fire and Flames" fifty times a week outside of Guitar Hero, and these people were douchebags who considered it the greatest song ever. While I don't mind hearing The Beatles, there's the possibility of the same thing happening. However, I do have to say there's less of a chance of it happening, though, since I've found that a lot of the people from the younger generations prefer to only listen to music like Through The Fire and Flames, so there's also the possibility that Rock Band Beatles might not sell well at all. Of course, that's me generalizing, and my observation comes from a small population of a town full of douchebags, so who knows.

tldr: This is cool but people may make it suck but hopefully not.

I feel that Harmonix has the integrity and ability to do this game right.

To be honest I had that song on my Winamp list but I was mainly interested as how someone could play the guitar so fucking fast. I mean, scoring a perfect in it was already like a huge holy shit to everyone but just imagining the actual guitarist with it, damn he must have had calluses the size of a golf ball.

These games should just be a novelty, but fucking stupid kids blow the whole thing out of proportion. So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to learn every Beatles song on a guitar, and then every Metallica song, and tell you which is better. Be back in a year.
