I am addicted to Diablo 2 again

But this time I'm actually building a decent character. She is a light sorc who can now solo hell mephisto and sometimes andy, depending on what creeps spawn at her. I have done a little MFing and so far have found an Occy and a perfect Tal orb. I just traded for the rest of the pieces of the Tal set, but I don't know if it will be more powerful than my current items. These are my stats right now

Lightning max dmg 15000

Chain lightning max dmg 6700

Items:

Shako w/ pTopaz
Occy
Low Vipermagi
Lidless w/ pDiamond
Goldwrap
2x nagelrings
rare ammy w/ 10 FCR, resists, life/mana, 12 str
shitty rare boots with some mf
38% chance guards or magefist

on swap I have a low CTA

charms:
16/14 Storch(!!!got it cheap!!!)
assorted mf sc, I am pretty proud of:
+2 str 8% cold res sc
6% mf 11% light res sc
grand charm with 40 health 50 mana, got this for free today!

I also just traded i hr for tal armor AND tal ammy together, I am going to test tal set now. If it sucks, I'll sell the whole set for 3 HR.

My merc is an act2 defensive with armor aura, equipped with average uniques. Sometimes he dies from bosses

I plan on getting spirit monarch, and throwing that lidless on swap. After than I will have good enough FCR to get rid of vipermagi (hopefully) and get some COT which will finally get me resists around 30-40 each.

When I rebuild this character (I had to spend points in Energy when I was poor) I would appreciate help muling it. I am USeast NL.

Wow I have great resists now, with my tals set on!

EDIT: YES Tals make it so much easier to do mf runs... even though my damage is down by almost half, and I lost a FCR breakpoint.

Tal's set sucks dude (at least compared to what you can get from individual items). Hammerdin's are also the best MF character. Or maybe Barbarians dual wielding ali babas on switch but who does that.

Instead of working on an overpowered character you should start a new character and level up with Thor Clock who still hasn't unlocked any of the higher difficulties.

Dwarf I need to make my first MF character still before I can expand into other classes. I know that hammerdins are the end-all most powerful PvE (and up there in PvP too), but I don't have gear for them. Also I disagree about Tals, I have done like 3 runs with it now, and I am not dieing. Before I was really lacking resists, and Tals is fulfilling that requirement. I do plan on eventually gearing her with 2 more runewords, then she will be almost maxed out.

Also @ sombra, it is an action RPG, but an RPG none the less

Yeah you can use energy sheild and enchant, then Zeal or that helm that lets you use the Druid's Bear Form.

EDIT: Ok now my merc keeps fucking dieing....
Maybe I'll switch back to holy freeze and see how it works out.

Well it all depends on the character you are using. If you are focusing on physical damage or summoning nightmare act 2 offensive are a great choice with their physical increasing aura. If casting nightmare act 2 defensive are considered the best by most, because of their freeze aura

Light sorcs were always my favorite build, I did a meteorb once but it never got too good (I actually played with Dwarf on that one)
