Munglai

in my next movie I might give all the clocks fish bodies

Sinister Clock

I always just have any limbs or what have you pop out as the clock character needs them, I give them the power of transformation. For some reason half my cast in movies use telekineses to hold objects and do shit and the other half generate hands and feet and etc...

that'd be really cool

is anybody acting like this is a big deal or is everybody just pretending everybody else is

Silly Putty Clock

I might use bodies in my clockday movie for next year, but that's just because it's a gangster movie and it's hard to put suits on most objects that we use for clocks. Actually, fuck that; FU did a good job with his noir and didn't do much in the way of bodies(the huge-titted girl was only that way for the sake of a joke, so :p).

RabidClock

I see nothing wrong with having human bodies. I see nothing wrong with not having human bodies. As long as we're making flash thats original I don't think it really matters at all.

FishbagClock

I think we should segregate into 2 separate groups for the Clocks who use bodies and the clocks that don't and then end up making a separate website for each and spam each other's BBS.

I've always been partial to the idea of clocks using the physical forms of their objects for movement, but it would take a lot of hard fbf work to be able to do that. For example, Marlin walking on his tail fin(with autoplay): http://files.myfrogbag.com/2anzvrh7sm7705x/marlinwalk.swf
I admit that my work on that was pretty sloppy.
I think the reason that I've always liked this idea was that I was dumb enough to pick a clock design that would be hard to animate using symbols. I mean, can you think of any one shape that looks like silly putty?

That SWF is hypnotizing, I could watch it for hours.

Silly Putty Clock

Quote from: RibsClock;1649369I like it, it reminds me strongly of how Renegade would animate his character (which I always thought made him look like a red klansman.)

I loved his CCTV2 entry.

EDIT: brb, watching CCTV2 now.

I remember that. When did you make it.

I better be in that one :p

I don't remember exactly, but I think it was in a thread where people were generally treating each other badly over politics and kicking up loads of drama, and I think productivity was mentioned somewhere, so I said we should all stop fighting and make flash for each other. I animated you in particular both because I'd been wanting to try that out for some time and because politically, philisophically, and religiously speaking, you and I are waaaaayyyyy apart. I should look up the thread.

Me and Zombie Lincoln conspired a big epic clock story in which we would redesign almost all the clocks in order to make them unique and exciting and they would all move in different way like what you done did there but we never made it because we're both important busy men.

Topcatyo

My next flash will feature clocks with no bodies or anything at all.
It'll be submitted tomorrow, keep an eye out for it.

joliet_jane

Quote from: Munglai;1648340I like the idea that they're just disposable bodies that clocks put on for fun sometimes like Nixon in Futurama getting on the headless body of Agnew
I just watched Easy Way Out again today, and I noticed that that's what happens to one of the first clocks to get shot in the head: he falls over and the clock rolls off. I never really noticed this until now.

Sinister Clock

The great thing about clock crew movies is that each author has their own laws of physics.

BlackberryClock

I've been working on little bits (rarely) on my 'ideal' movie, and it has always included Clock bodies. When I first started working on it, I thought I was being innovative, but now it's not really. I say that and my Fitter Happier collab piece had a body in, so I don't know--I guess I've had the clock-body paradigm for a while.

didn't you used to have a signature like 6 years ago with them?

I think it was you

I remember thinking it was weird but nicely done
