Other than some fakey looking CG, it looks pretty flippen cool. Lucky Limey Tea sipping Bastards get it before us (If we here in the US get it at all...) Oh Well, I'll find a way to see it regardless. :)

I read the book a couple of years ago, and this seems nothing like it besides the fact that he's young forever.

Still, wont judge it entirely based on the trailer

With this and Sherlock Holmes, that seems to be a running thing this year.

As different as it looked, I kinda like the trailer. I love The Picture of Dorian Gray, and can't really tell from the trailer if it's close or not.

You have a thing for classical Goth-but-not-really lit. _poogle_

I mean, hell, I like it too, but that was before it was cool. :dork:

Poltergeist

Oh my GOD.

It's awesome how they got someone who didn't understand the book at all to write this screenplay. Fucking hell, there's meant to be gay tension between Dorian and Basil, and he's only meant to be interested in one woman ever whose heart he breaks, leading to him being hunted down. If he goes around being an unsubtle dousche then it's more like "oh somone was bound to kill him eventually" then actually having a real outcome.

Oh okay just finished watching the trailer, didn't realise this was Dorian Gray for stupid people, never mind.

clockradioclock

Yeah, there was supposed to be a lot of gay tension and undertone. The Picture of Dorian Gray caused scandal when it first came out because of that.

Also, didn't see Lord Henry anywhere in the trailer.

Poltergeist

If I remember correctly there was evena small passage removed from the book due to gay undertones.

Uh-huh
Surfaces once every so often, As though he's unable to let go of the past

clockradioclock

Colin Firth is playing Lord Henry, he was all over that trailer like a horny dog in a park.

He was probably very difficult to recognize acting like that. :p

clockradioclock

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. So it's Basil I'm not seeing anywhere in the trailer, played by Ben Chaplin.

Munglai

Yeah this looks very silly.

Actually, according to the actor playing Dorian, he actually kisses a man in one scene.

There already is a Dorian Gray movie, why do they enjoy making remakes so much?

There are around three or four movies. The one in black and white actually has a scene in colour where they painted over every fframe of the movie.
