Also, anything by Neil Gaiman is a safe bet, especially Neverwhere, Coraline, and The Graveyard Book.

Pride and Prejudiced and Zombies.
Any book in the Horus Heresy series if you haven't read them (Start with Horus Rising).
Next of Kin/The Space Willies- Pretty good, although obscure Sci-Fi comedy, maybe? I'm not positive on what genre it is.
