Should I get a fucking iPod?

I'm tired of listening to 1 band on my 1gb PHILIPS mp3 player. I hate the radio so I play music in my care by plugging the mp3 player into a adaptor that goes into your tape deck. The shuffle sucks on it because it picks an order when you first put the songs on and ALWAYS plays the songs in that order, and when you turn it off an on again it starts at the beginning and it's really annoying. Also did I mention it's only 1gb? What's the standard now? Like 500gb?

Anyway, I'm a consumer whore so I think I'm going to buy one. Are they shit? Is there a non iPod that's better? I heard them Zune things were tight. But I want an iPod Touch so I can fuck around with it.

I got a 30 gig iPod and so far so good. iTunes is awesome but the thing with the iPod I don't like is the way you scroll through the bands and songs and shit by going around the wheel. It's a cool idea but I always go past the band I want the go to far back then to far fortward etc. Also with iTunes it has to have the music in the same place. If you move it it can't find it which is gay. But when I got mine I put the music folder on the desktop and now I have a folder full of music on my desktop I can't move, it doesn't sound like a big deal but my OCD got the best of me.

Are they overpriced or can you find a less popular device that's just as good for the same price?

iPod 16gb: $275
Zune 16gb: $220

Wait a bit longer and you can fancy it up with a different color and even a picture and/or text on the back for an extra $20 through Zune Originals

iPods probably are a bit overpriced but they are pretty and the newer ones are very sturdy and don't seem to break and if they do Apple is good at replacing them. I figure unless you're on a tight budget you might as well just get an iPod because they're nice.

I like my iPod nano, but I'd rather have the original version than the version I currently have. To be honest I never use any other features besides just playing music.

I've got a 30gb 5th gen iPod, it's faired pretty well and I do quite like it.
I can't speak for any other MP3 players because since I've gotten this one it's all been good.
I think this thing is getting onto being 4 years old and really the only issues with it are the scratches(note lack of proper case).
Plus they are pretty.

yeah get an ipod, i've had two so far and that's not because one broke or anything it's because the ipod touch is fucking godlike and nothing can compete with it.

so yeah if you want one for primarily music get a classic, if you want one that does music, plays games and is basically a pda get the ipod touch.

Ugh, I hate iPod. The touch is decent, but Ugh. I'm gonna end up getting a Zune HD instead. Go for the Zune.
