I've been trying out fbf recently, so i decided to post this little animation, I was trying to learn more about perspective and depth. I'll post more later if I can think of anything good to animate.

Really nice start for a first fbf!

Some more FBF, I was experimenting with weight and mass and exaggerated it a bit.

The downward motion shouldn't be tweened. It should be the most natural part of the animation.

You're drawing the axe as if the camera's looking at it exactly perpendicular to it, but that makes no sense if the log isn't perpendicular to the camera, as well. It implies that the axe is being swung at exactly the tilt of the camera, which is unrealistic and improbable.

Updated to try and meet what you all said I should do:

Good that there's at least some angle, but it's the wrong angle. The axe's bottom side SHOULD show on the up swing, because the top of the axe is being angled away from the viewer as this is done, but otherwise you would only see the bottom if the axe was above the center of vision, just as you can see the top face of the log because it's below the center of vision. Rather, after the axe head breaks off you should be able to see the a slight bit of the top face, but none of the bottom, save that semielliptical outline.
