I'm in my second year of college now, doing BTEC ICT, A2 Drama, AS Art and Extended Project. Last year I was doing BTEC ICT, AS Drama and Design, I failed Design. 3 Weeks in I've discovered that my college actually has a Graphic Design course thing, if I knew this last year I would have saved a shit load of work and time.

Anyway, I'm trying to switch from Art to Graphic Design and the head of Graphic Design told me that people usually have to get an A in art or design or whatever to get into Uni even to do a foundation which requires like 60 UMS points. Most universities I've looked at either only require a certain amount of UMS points regardless of what subject they're from and others require that you've completed at least one arty farty like subject but will make exceptions if you've got a portfolio of a quality I don't really know about.

Basically I am wondering if I am completely fucked.

I've done an art foundation course and I'm on an arty university course now and neither of them really seemed to care about the grades. What they look for is a portfolio or sketchbooks that show some kind of potential and a good attitude. I think any arty course that only takes people based on grades is probably not a good one.
