Well that's one to add to the list of people who get what they don't deserve. See I can understand why they would give it to Jimmy Carter, Woodrow Wilson, or Theodore Roosevelt considering they've diffused very hostile situations. Obama has not ended a war, he has not closed down Gitmo, he hasn't really accomplished anything that he's set out to do except spend a lot of money on failed big businesses.

The stimulus plan has also bounced back the American economy quite significantly and has kept Canadian - American trade afloat. So, you know.

He hasn't ended the war. People are still in Guantanamo. We are still extraditing POW's to israel to be tortured, and that's still very wrong.

Russia has been under pressure from many countries to reduce their nuclear operations. Obama is just the one doing it the most publicly.

Also the economy is not back to normal. Wall street is back to normal. The economy is still a failure. The deficit is still through the roof, and unemployment continues to spiral out of control.

As for the war it's not his fault but saying he would end it when he hasn't is his fault.

Granted the guy got a huge pile of shit from the last guy to clean up but I don't think he's even done anything significant with that either. In other words he has not accomplished anything. He has made steps towards a lot of little things which as US history has shown does absolutely nothing. To give him the nobel prize shows a complete lack of prudence.

And if you think libertarianism is a joke you should watch the US congress bicker like little girls over semantics.

Unfortunately the only real claims against Obama that is portrayed in the media comes from irrational conservatives who listen to jabbering lunatics like Rush Limbaugh.

Before you start bashing libertarians maybe you should spend more time telling the whiny Canadian liberals to stop wasting tax dollars to complain about simple political advertisements.

Well, to be fair, Libertarianism only became more popular as people were forced between choosing John McCain/Palin and Barack Obama/Biden. Most Americans were generally against or felt a certain disdain towards the Republican Party and voting in the inexperienced negro wasn't going to fly - so.

Can you please tell me, how the Libertarian Party, in anyway, became more substantial (than reasons mentioned above) within American or Canadian politics? Considering they did not make it into the final election itself, I don't think they did.

I think the decision was mostly based on Obama's speech to Islamic countries, which, if you saw it, was fucking fantastic and was everything our foreign diplomacy, particularly towards those countries, was lacking in the last seven-eight years.

Also, I'm loving this whole, "Obama's done nothing!" vs. "Oh my God our country's changing so fast what's happening!" thing we got going. On the one hand, no Guantanamo is not closed down yet, and no, we haven't pulled out of Iraq. At the same time, welcome to fucking American politics. Things don't happen in a day, especially when you're talking about the "war on terror." You guys aren't looking at the individual struggles faced with each one of these issues. Guantanamo? Conservatives WOULD NOT shut the fuck up about how terrorists might be coming onto American soil to go to our prisons, because God knows our we suck at keeping people behind bars, uh, I guess. Also we might pull out of Iraq sooner than the initial time table had the date set for, so what's the problem? Not to mention, the economic stimulus package is enough of a change to our country to merit four years' worth of presidency, so fuck off if you think he "hasn't done anything."

I still hold my thought, anyone can disagree with the choice, but could anyone point out a better candidate? A faceless martyr who has been the victim of  war from africa or some micro loaner in india sure is swell but you all know it'll just end up with 2 weeks of panels talking about how swell that guy/girl is and how awesome his/her work is and then nobody will care.

You'll hear about Obamas price untill the end of earth, So help me God you'll hear about it the day he leaves office and you'll hear about it the day he dies.

I mean come on, just try to mention 5 Nobel Peace Prize winners of your head without using google, I'm from Sweden myself and I can't.

If nothing else, he instills hope and that is something this world desperatly needs right now.



And yes ofcourse the Nobel Comittee are about populistic at the moment; Al Gore proved that. But that does not neccerly mean it's wrong.
