So I finally put my graduate film online.
The culmination of a year of horrible work and stress:

(Better quality on Vimeo but I can't embed it for some reason)

DWARFINATORclock

Poltergeist

Man that was incredible.

So many individual moments look like they could have taken absolutely ages and been incredibly frustrating. great job!

MonsterMunch

Fireman

I digged it, I'm not sure if I fully understood it though.

Cool stuff, where did the idea come from?

Pretty much on the spot actually.
We got back to college and were told we needed to present our film ideas the next day. I had no idea we needed one ready so I quickly started doodling a character. He was black and white and kind of scrawny and it got my brain moving. Started picturing him in the desert and obstacles and shit for him to face. The five stages of grief somehow got in there and the story evolved from that.

AN ERROR OCURRED PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER

That was really nice. Was the main character rotoscoped?

Biblo

Sooort of. The last shot and the hands reaching out shots were both entirely rotoscoped ya.
The rest was done by taking photos of key poses and timing & inbetweening them to my taste. So it has the look of rotoscoping with a different movement to it I think

Quote from: FLOUNDERINYOBUTT;1837615I think Kodiak is the only person on  this entire website who dislikes Slurpee. I still dont understand how  thats possible. He\'s so loveable and funny. Every guy wants to be his  friend and every girl wants to date him. Understandably Slurpee is not a  very happy person.

Ok yeah that makes sense. I was trying to figure out how it had been done because the art looks like it's been copied or traced from real life stuff but most of the movement doesn't look very rotoscoped.

It's really nice. Nicer now that I get the 5 stages of grief thing. If I were you though I'd try and bring in a bit more non-digital stuff. Maybe get it printed as film and then scratch the film up a bit or add in some inky backgrounds or something? I don't know. I'm guessing you probably won't want to do anything more to it. I never want to do anything to my stuff when I've proclaimed it finished.

PepperClock

very cool and was great to watch again after you mentioned the stages of grief!
