NANOWRIMO starts in 2 weeks...

...who's planning on participating this year? I'm going to make the attempt, but I've got one class that's been relentless with its homework this semester and I'm having trouble keeping up as it is.

I should have a local writing buddy though, so that's good.

Do you guys know what you're going to write about yet?

I'm participating. probably gonna try to crank out a new interpretation of the same thing I had in mind last year.

I'm trying to get more into the spirit this year- when I'm writing fiction I have a tendency to backtrack and rephrase a lot, so it takes me forever to put out what would come fairly quickly if I just wrote.

I might actually try and get something done this time around. Halfway through last time I realized my story was utterly shit and that it was headed nowhere so I gave up.

my english professor said to try to focus on completion and worry about the rest of the shit later. the goal of nanowrimo is accomplishing- some people finish their stories before they run out of words, and just start new ones, and a lot of people never even go back and look at what they wrote.

I'm going to do it again this year, although I'm busier now so it might be harder than last year. I'll probably do something silly like a guy leaving his shoelaces untied leading to aliens coming to earth and curing cancer.

FUCK I am NEVER prepared for this goddamn thing I constantly forget about it every year but THIS time I am going to finish it I mean what kind of writer can't write a little 50k word story in a month it's nothing really!

Yes of course and the best advice anyone can give you is DON'T FUCKING PROCRASTINATE IT NEVER WORKS. Start writing early and try to give yourself some wiggle room by writing more than you need to on average to finish your story, early in the month.
