Also looking through the forums list for once (I usually use the new posts button) I'm reminded we have a pretty nice forum.

I was considering this, but then again what would it actually do? Art threads would get bumped off the first page faster if they were all consolidated. Then again the forums spread out as they are now seem fairly barren.It also seems like there have been less active users lately, so maybe we should consolidate a few.



But none of this really affects me personally because like I said I only use the "new posts:" button and my subscriptions list.

We have so many forums that some of the less popular ones just never get posted in and are eventually forgotten. Programmers' Den, C0mpu73r Cr4p, The Jukebox, and The Dungeon are pretty bad on this. I would never even bother posting a programming problem in the Programmers' Den because it would be weeks before anybody even noticed the thread.

I would also rather see some of the near identical forums groups together in subforums, like moving Collaborative Projects into The League of Extraordinary Animators and putting the Pokemon Battle Arena into the Artist's Lounge. Also, as said before, Programmers' Den and C0mpu73r Cr4p should be merged.

That's my 2-cents.

What about a system that puts all related forums into one, but you can choose which one(s) you can view. That way it would appear as one forum that could be broken up into specific areas if desired.

What if we combined the art forums intro strictly audio, visual, and written?  We'd cut down some of the extra forums there and that way some art will get more views.

I'm just curious to see how hard it would be to implement. Piney could probably do it, but that might be asking a lot from him . I think people would use it a lot honestly, this way the user can join any forums into their own specific one; displaying whatever they wish.

...but of course, the easiest solution would be to simply merge the threads.

I think we have too many forums and someof them are turning into ghosts towns because not enough people give them the attention that they need to thrive and they end up not having that many threads to begin with and you go visit the  board and only 3 threads have been posted within the last month and it really is silly to have so many boards.

you should compress the leisure ones to more generalised forums and the same with the creative ones.
or or or do the already sugested option of combining the creative ones with their leisure counterparts.
there isn't really an art appreciation forum or a filming forum.
so it could just be like.

We merged/purged a lot a while ago, i think it's good enough as it is. Although i think i have suggested merging the cooking, sports and health forum into a "lifestyle" forum which could also include stuff like clothes (or things like the Watch thread) and alcohol/drug related threads. Basically anything that isn't art or media and doesn't belong in general. Which i still think is a neat idea.  Also maybe ad like /Comics to Literature (Literature/Comics) to stimulate comic discussion in that thread or something.
