Search the forums, PM people, see threads older than six months, have an avatar, etc. A lot of basic forum functions cost money on SA. Now I understand why they charge for every little thing, that site takes a whole lot of money to keep afloat, but it's still pricey for just an internet forum.

When paying for college means that all that you have left spending money wise is 100 dollars, then 10% of your entire disposable income is a lot of money for nothing.

It's not that $10 a month is a lot, it's just that it adds up over time and I want to save my money should I ever need it.

When I get a job, ten bucks won't be a problem. Still, though, seems a bit unnecessary for an Internet forum, but it is a very good one.

Whattt, it's not that hard to find a job flipping burgers or some shit. That's what I just got home from doing (well, hotdogs and burgers). And I got a job tutoring at my college now, so I can cut back the hours I work at my shitty job. It's gonna be sweet, i'll be pulling like >200 a week after taxes.

They also need to pay for the forum upkeep, pay the guys who write the great articles etc. To clarify I don't have an account, but I may have to get one because you can't lurk the forums without one anymore.
