I think the mods are just fine. Biggs is notoriously ridicules with his bans sometimes but thats nothing new at this point.

I like to think of the staff as stern. Stern, but fair.


Also, the grinder is a source of great entertainment for me. If anything we need to make bans more hilarious.

I don't understand why you think that because you are a mod for some reason (lets assume it's because in the past you were perceived to be trustworthy and just, although it could be any number of reasons), you can just make up rules on the spot and at your discretion like "shut up now or you get two more weeks" and in other cases with other mods "no more birthday threads because i hate them even though i could just not read them"

You've been trusted with the right to ban so that you can ban the nogooders when they are frustrating us as a group. The current mentality is that mods are a separate group ruling over us.
It should be that the mods are part of the group, not a separate one, helping the group out as a whole by banning people who go against the group as a whole.

It shouldnt be you against us because the mods should be part of the clockcrew. Right now it seems like the clockcrew is being run by people who are completely removed and detached from us as a group and that makes it hard for us to give a shit when you have an opinion on one of us, which you feel justifies a ban.

This whole system is just fucked up. If I didn't think it'd be pointless and childish (not to mention the assets we would lose in doing so) I would suggest we unmod everyone and start the site new from the ground up. Maybe start a completely new site with new mods, fresh faces. Then maybe we'd all be invigorated to actually do something about how dismal this place has become the last few years.

It was an act of kindness but you label it as a dick move ok I see where the problem is here. Ban contesting is against the rules and can get your ban extended, you were offered the chance to be unbanned if you only followed the rules. You breaking the rules is a dick move.

tbh i think that anyone who can ban has a responsibility to invite others to scrutinise their bans and other work so that they can only strive to make their bans fair and the rules understandable to everyone to make this place better.
Right now any new clock is being taught that to be allowed to post here you must note who the mods are and only post things they think are funny and to never question anything they do. That doesn't sound like how the cc should be run. We should be free to develop humour, we should be free to give people a goddamn chance before banning them to hell and we should be free to have civil conversations about our bans, other peoples bans and ban policy as a large group (not just staff) without it instantly being labelled as whiny ban contesting and banned for longer.

You say that ban contesting has been against the rules forever and you're right, but I propose this changes. The rule is only in place to appease the few mods who can't take the responsibility of being able to ban people, and not the help the group as a whole craft a fair ban policy
