it's official. it's real. It's... not too bad!

1ghz Apple A4 Processor, 1-64 GB Storage, Cloud Based storage iWork, Multitouch 9 inch screen... specialized apps, runs iphone and ipod apps in a small window. Has the iBook app to compete with Kindle... sorry amazon you're screwed.

For the 32gb Model.

I want the midrange or even the 16gb, honestly. My netbook had 16gb which was plenty even after my apps and os installed, aaaaand with cloud based storage they are providing and 3g ($30 per month prepaid unlimited data) it looks sorta promising. For web browsing, applications, etc it looks pretty reasonable.

PirateClock

it's stupid. How are you supposed to use it? It's to big to operate with your tumbs and i doubt it's very stable if you are holding it with one hand, so you need to put it down to use it properly. Dumbbbb

I'm hating the name, but the other issues aren't bothering me. Holding it seems to be either a portrait, one handed affair, or on your lap, sketching and doodling. I bet there will be a stylus made for it soon enough like the iPhone. The iWork and Brushes apps look cool too.

Sinister Clock

it's terrible and overpriced. Like every other apple product.

Kaijuclock

Its the size of a fuckign picture frame, Still doesnt have flash, and has ONE FUCKING BUTTON. Its just an ipod touch thats the size of a text book. Its fail and if someone actually goes out and buys this thing the deserve not only a boot to the crotch, but a shot to the head. I don't see why people support the shittly division of apple, Macbooks i get whatever, But this is too fucking far in the range of I'm a edgy teenness that no one should have ever even thought this up.

Well, at the risk of sounding like an Apple Zealot, I'm going to do this quickly.

1. Flash runs poorly in general. Runs poor on iMacs, runs poorly on mobile devices, runs poorly in Linux and is loaded with security holes. What Apple is mostly banking on is the progress of HTML5, which looks to be replacing Flash usage for video in the near future.

2. It has a 10 inch screen, something that is expected of a tablet, gives it the room to do work on it. It has a huge bezel, supposedly to prevent misinput that a bezel-less screen would give.

3. Theres two buttons on the side: Volume Rocker and Lock. That and the home makes it 3.

4. It's not really an iPod Touch, since it has a different processor, different screen size, varied UI on the iPhone OS, and runs its own SDK for applications. Think of it as an iPhone being a laptop, and the iPad being the desktop variant.

As for issues typing, they have created a keyboard dock, allowing you to type on it whenever you need to do some serious typing. A plus with the whole iWork cloud based thing they're doing, it looks like it could seriously be good for the college student needing to rent their textbooks for cheap, and take notes.

1. Its a tablet, why use it if you cant art in flash properly. Your a flash animatore damnit, and i have NEVER had problems running flash in linux or even on a mac (I used to have one)

2.Great, and while your at it you can carry around my giant external harddrive for your music. OH WAIT NO USB

3.3 butts, pshaw yea like thats any better

4.And people say the same thing about the ipod touch not being an iphone. The processor thing i get but 1. whatever ghz? Seriously thats low end technology right there, My dick has more gghz and it was made in 1986

5.Yea, And they will make you buy it for 150 bucks and itll take em 3 years to come out with it, Think the bluetooth headset with an iphone.

The thing is this tablet will do little more that word process and watch shit in youtube. It doesn't need to be that powerful. Plus a more powerful processor would decrease the battery life.

I dont see why someone would opt this giant thing over something like say, An older tablet notebook with better specs and a lower price range. Also theres another thing we can talk about! The battery, you cant fucking replace them! Apple is goddamn ridiculous and to think this is a good idea shows you are too. Join the blast group so i can flame you too!

1. I'm talking about the flash player, something that is riddled with exploits, breaks the "walled garden" concept of their OS that prevents nearly any way for a memory leak, and is currently so bloated up until Linux's Flash 10 64bit alpha i noticed issues.

2. Usb dongle. You can buy it on release if you must have one immediately. I think REV.2 will have it integrated.

3. Personal preference. Sometimes less is nicer for aesthetics, which is what they choose. I would like a front facing camera.

4. This isn't an i386 processor, they're using a custom made processor for this thing. Something thats been tweaked and built and designed to work for what they plan on throwing at it.

5. It's coming out alongside it on launch, and it makes it like a miniature iMac. Combine that with a remote vnc app and you have a thin client computer that can connect to a workstation when you need a "real pc's" power.

1.Okay so what? Maybe if the specs where better it could handle it. For god sakes i got my fucking psp to run a flash player and it only has 32k ram.

2.You cant THINK in a debate, you have no proof, therefore this is invalid.

3.Some people are stupid, you are right. OH GOD IT LOOKS NEAT FAP  FAP FAP

4.So? They couldnt bump it up to atleast a 2.0 ghz? 3d apps are going to run like shit my man

5.Great, and i bet it costs an arm and a leg too!

1. PSP's use Flash Lite, which doesn't have the full capabilities that the flash plugin on your computer does. While Android recently got Flash player up and going, it cut the battery life by a significant amount. If that can be fixed, it might make it into an update.

2.

3. Not everyone likes the same things, I think the aesthetics look nice.

4. If they bumped it to 2.0ghz the couldn't claim that 10 hour battery life. Once again, wait until the second or so iteration. Look at how the iPhone has improved.

5. "I bet" can't be used in a rebutt either.
