I thought i'd share some of the sketches I've been doing here, as a means of motivating myself to do more. Any feedback is encouraged.

This was my first experiment with my new Bamboo pen + touch. Drawn from observation, it's unfinished:

My second foray is also drawn from observation and is also unfinished (the light changes too quickly!):

I experimented more with textures and colours in this one.

The following one is another one drawn from observation, but this one is more or less finished as the midday light is less temperamental and gave me plenty of time to work:

I think this last one is let down by my lack of attention to lighting/colours but I do like the messiness of it, because the shack itself was very messy and tumbledown too:

Whoa! I really like this style, nice and bright with lots of neat looking textures. I like the large views of open areas. 3rd one is my favorite. You should get some kind of flash holder that will automatically load a collection of these sketches to browse :)
lemayo lol :soups:

The first picture is pretty neat, kinda has that barren plains kinda feel to it. The second one I'm not too fond of, but I like how you colored the sky and clouds to it. Your third one is pretty nice, I like how you used those shapes for trees and making it feel all spacey. I'm absolutely blown away by your last one though, I really like how you made the shed, you can really tell what it's made of just by seeing your choice of textures on it, and your vibrant colors for it.

I also like how much this art says about where you live, It's almost like I've been to your house and seen what nature has to offer.

Thanks! Textures and colours are what I focus on the most, I think. More than form anyway.

These things seem to go out of fashion faster than video game consoles, though. I think i'd better just stick to the basics and get more practice in.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you feel you have some picture of my environment because that's what i'm so keen on communicating -- the mood, beauty, light and colour of the area. I don't know how long i'll be here, either, so it's kind of like taking very personal photographs. If I took a regular photo, I wouldn't engage so much with the place, but drawing it means I focus on every detail and colour and get to know it more intimately.

SpongeClock SquarePants

last one is atractive to the eye, it kinda jumps out because its way more vivid than the others

DigitalLemonClock

the progress you made between each one is really good

but trying to capture outside scenery on a tablet + labtop(?) sounds like a weird idea

why not use paint

I'd love to be able to paint traditionally.. but it's very different. I can see all these things from inside (except the last one which is done from photos I took on  a walk). I think I will try my hand at traditional painting sooner or later -- for that very reason. I can't paint outside with a netbook. Unless I had a sort of "hide" in which to camp out.

Beret

Very cool! I love the last one's texture usage.

SpinningCubeClock

I was going to say use more contrast, but then I scrolled down.
