I've been active for years but I just recently took a huge interest in the career field of Graphic Design and I thought that staying in the Clock Crew would be great practice. If anyone has any advice for being a graphic designer or becoming one please feel free to share. I'll see you all around the forums.

Oh, and I'm thinking of designing a new clock, Hippie Clock.

Heyyy, what up d00d.

I'm an art director at an ad agency. Are you in school? If so, how far along? My advice would be if you have any professors that actually work in the field, listen to them. Do anything they tell you (unless they're complete dumbasses) and try and build good connections with them. When you're looking for a job you want to be able to go to them for help. Also, while it's fine to experiment with grunge graphic design, try and simplify your work, especially with current trends. I was told to do this by the man who is now my boss, and went from doing stuff like this:

Try to build a portfolio that shows a wide range of work, and be clever. Also I agree with your assessment that the CC is a good place to stay, because I think my knowledge of Flash was key in me getting hired. Make yourself a website and don't be afraid to show off, but also keep your design sensibilities in check. Hope some of that helps.
