Black Isle made the only old fallout games that count. The tactics bullshit was just third party crap to cash in on the franchise. Black Isle is the indisputably the best RPG developer ever. Deal with it, nerds.

Obsidian was formed partially from people from Black Isles but for the most part is a new company as the MAJORITY of black isle went off to make some other company that went bankrupt in like a year. Saying Obsidian is just a renamed Black Isle is simply not true.

The only Fallout that Bethesda made was fallout 3, which was full of plot holes, removed all tactics from the game, and made the game obscenely linear for a fallout game. As many people say it's just oblivion with guns. I consider it a spinoff more than a real fallout game. New Vegas is the true successor.

Just gonna say that Planescape: Torment is proof of this. It is the closest I have ever gotten to a true pen-and-paper RPG with a singleplayer videogame. I suggest everyone play it.

Ok let me be that guy saying, what is so great about The Elder Scrolls that everyone is going crazy about? I am not saying it sucks, I am just ignorant.

EDIT: byyyy looking at the trailer, I will admit, it does look pretty darn cool. So is it pretty much first person sandbox set in a mythologic land?

Basically it's a really addictive and immersive first person RPG series that normally takes place in expansive open worlds with nearly limitless quests, npcs, secrets and items to discover. It also has excellent lore that's really easy to get into.

If you're new to the series I would suggest giving Oblivion a try but if you're up to the challenge and can handle last gen graphics definitely give Morrowind a shot as well. Both games have numerous mods on PC but also handle pretty well on consoles. Cheap and easy to find nowadays.

Oh, and the music.. The fucking music..

Oblivion on the PS3 got me into the series. I brought Morrowind a while after and it's just as good, if a little harder.

The trailer on that site looks awesome, they really refined it from Oblivion's shoddy animation

You really get the feeling like no matter how much you do, you're nowhere near done the game, but you never lose that sense of progression, so it's like... Yeah. I played oblivion for almost a whole year and i stopped playing having not even finishing everything

All looks cool, and I like the new theme but... I'm not sure I'm diggin the art filter they have on everything. The whole "sketchy" look. Sort of reminds me of borderlands, and that game always gave me a headache after a while.
