grapes of wrath was actually pretty good from what I read
I just skipped huge segments because I was drowning in a sea of adolescent emotional turmoil

Atonement

A ton of french books from high school that I can't remember, like:
Les Miserables (would like to read this eventually but didnt want to in grade 8)
Le colonel Chabert
L'emmitouflé
etc
