Okay so I played a nice little game which inspired me to make this:

Experimenting with various effects and attempting to make it less static. What do you guys think?

Thunderbolt

Looks great so far, maby you could try using some blur to give it more depth.

Paranoid

For some reason it reminds me of Pokemon...

i was thinking more of dr. seuss meets dragonball z

I think it's really the grass that makes it look static, it would be greatly improved if you just added some modest FBF or something. It's really obvious when something that close to the foreground is completely still, especially when other objects in that section (the mushrooms) aren't.

IvysaurClock

Oh wow, that is beautiful. I love the colour scheme you've used.

The little bugs are adorable, and I love the movement effects on the mushrooms and bushes. The impact splashes are a great effect, but hard to see at normal viewing distance. Is it possible to make the impact splashes a little larger?

Flounderpa

I think the grass and mushrooms should be moving more violently, after all you are in the middle of a storm

SockpuppetClock

what if

  • clouds were multiple layers instead of one static rotating image
  • trees and grass were affected by the wind
  • subtle raindrop effect (static, maybe?)

p.s. I love the lightning and thunder, it makes the sky feel so alive

Loki Clock

The background should be obscured by haze if it's raining so heavily.

The sound is good, did you make it?

yes this would make it way more dynamic

PolyhedronClock

I'm not a fan how the clouds are rotating around a certain point, kinda feels like you're adding a 3D element to it in a 2D drawing, which normally isn't bad but this just reminds me of a skybox in a tf2 game bluh. The way the sky is position really sets the mood of the rest of it, and you should try finding a sky that compliments the scenery rather than give it a different perspective.
