The most noticable thing I notice is that the mouth is kind of smaller than it looks like it should be... is she supposed to be biting her lip or something? I think the lack of subtle wrinkles really gives the impression of flatness, as if her mouth is naturally like that

Also, I notice there's a subtle shadow under her right eye but not her left, which makes it looks like her closed eye is flat

don't wanna be a dick but
couldn't you at least trace a good picture

Going to ignore the other comments so far. (Fuck you Buttplug)

I used this as a ref.

I know the mouth is too small and on the wrong position. But I can't seem to get it right.
I think it's because the shape and scale of the head isn't good.
Thanks for the critism Sockpuppet.

Thunderbolt the point is that if you want to get better at drawing, doing this won't help at all. It's not even like drawing from life, where you transpose a real thing into a 2d deception. It's a task not art.

I mean you were so strict in copying her expression that it just fell flat. You copied it, you didn't try to interpret it.

Yeah, I guess you are right. But the problem is that I don't know much hot girls who want to sit on a chair for 5 hours when I draw them.
I could draw something in this room, but drawing a chair or a lamp isn't realy something that looks fun to me.
I might draw my guitar, now that I think about it.
Thanks for the comment.

The face is all color and no shading, so it looks flat.

Some shadows would help. There's one that's like a spread-wide U under the eye on the left, that gives you the depth of the eyeball. There's a C-shaped one to the right of it, giving that little vault off from the nose. [EDIT: Didn't see new pick, you started on that but I can't tell if you got the shape completely.] There's another, subtle one on the right edge of the top lip. That's a symptom of the lack of depth gradation on the top lip.

There are more. You can seek them out yourself.

I think it's the nose that's off, not the mouth. It's drawn at a different angle from the rest of the face, kind of upright and facing a little to the right.

I will redo alot of the shading on the face, but there is alot of shading on the body that has to be redone too.

Thanks, I think you are right. I will redo the nose first.

sigh

1. they shouldn't have to stand there for 5 hours, there are things you can do that let you get the gist down without making them sit the entire time you draw. And if you don't want to gesture draw, then just take some photos for later...
2. "Hot girls?" What the hell are you talking about? not everyone in the world is "beautiful," don't be silly like that
3. when you got nothing to draw from IRL, you end up having to find photos, sometimes online

this is where I sometimes look for references and whatnot

You meen, like sketch the basic shapes and then use photos to get the details right?

Yeah, I might find someone who I can practice on.
I just meant, that I find it better to draw something that I think looks very attractive (to me).

Well sure, but don't be selective or you won't learn

VuBawlsClock

I wish some girl would stand naked in my room for 5 hours.
That saying, no girl would trust me to stand in my room naked for 5 hours
Fuck Steven Universe

DigitalLemonClock

lamps may be boring but they're excellent practice for drawing from observation

the human body is one of the most complex recognizable forms to render properly so taking time to understand simpler, more geometric shapes and how to convey them is probably equally if not of greater importance than drawing from photos which, as mentioned, rob you of the challenge of transforming your 3d perception of what you see onto a 2d plane

if you need something attractive then just look around and find cool things/people you can draw

I might try to do some simple objects in this room. To draw things from life.

What do you guys think of drawing a wooden man? You know, the wooden puppets that you can change the way he stands.

I use them for proportion reference, especially when drawing a figure at odd angles.
