Man, 99% of videogames really suck

What a huge void of really dull, mediocre shit the world of videogames is. I just finished playing LA Noire and I thought that it was mostly really good. It had lots of problems but it was involving and unusual. Before that I think the last decent game I played was... Arkham Asylum maybe. I can't think of a game since then I thought was really worthwhile. The next game that looks worth investing any time is is Arkham City. That's pretty pathetic. A good game roughly every 6 months. Videogame companies need to get their shit together.

Oh, I didn't play Portal 2 yet but I'm sure it's got to be a pretty good since Valve are pretty much incapable of doing anything wrong.

i pretty much do this, I've been spending the latest months getting GameCube games to fll out on what I missed from the past generation.

For me that's pretty much the epitome of uncreative game making. The fact that game lovers lap it up makes it even worse.

If you want to find some really good games easily just go to a game review website and track down their "top scores of all time" for various consoles.

Of course there's going to be some bullshit up there too but looking at IGNs top PS3 games I see such masterpieces as Metal Gear Solid 4, Red Dead Redemption, GTA 4, Portal 2, and Uncharted 2, all great games well worth a play.

I used to love fighting games but I'm a bit bored of them now. I've played all the games you mentioned there. Everything I haven't played in the top 10 lists just seem to be reiterations of Halo or Call of Duty.

Suggesting specific games is probably a bad idea since I have no idea what you like or what you've already played, but  I assure you there ARE still good games out there, and they're still coming out. You just may have to do some research to separate the wheat from the chaff

Avoiding FPS games is a good way to expedite the process these days.

Thirding this, I've just finished Luigi's Mansion and I'm now just playing through God Hand on an emulator. These games own hard.

Also I have a PS2 and gamecube controller with a USB adapter so it's like I'm playing a HD PS2 or Gamecube.

Nah, the range of videogames is much much smaller than films or music. Even most indie games seem to be pretty desperate. Loads of zombies and internet jokes. God damn.

Well there's always Phoenix Wright if you liked the interrogation parts of LA Noire. I can't remember if you've played those or not.
