and I think this is a nice idea. I have a correction to make about the post in x different forums. I think it would be a good thing to have that rule but with this adjustment.

I think it should be post atleast 3 threads that wont be gassed/deleted.  that way the common sense would hopefully work and the rule itself would prevent the shitposting.

It's definitely a good idea. Give the newbies a "quest" in order to secure their clock status.

I didn't like the voting system that was previously installed. All of it depended on public opinion. It's important to have SOME type of democracy, however. I'd suggest that a clockfriend ( once completed all prerequisite tasks )would be required to have 3 or so official clocks offer their recommendations with a short note ; WHY do you think X deserves the Official clock title?

Oh, I didn't clarify this but perhaps it's obvious: this is a system that would work perfect in combination with a green door because only actively participating members can access that forum this way. It's better than the old system because anyone who wants to become a clock can become one, without it becoming a popularity contest. Plus there's no monthly voting and arguing and butthurt anymore.

We'll be doing away with the system. It's caused too much stagnation in the group. Besides, if you don't know how to act like a clock you'll probably be called out for it.

Everyone should start as a clock, but then they could get demoted for sucking.

To tell the truth, when I was a newbie, I would have liked a little quest to become a clock.

I liked the clockification system back when it was manual, but that was as a clockfriend and I just had to make movies until someone changed my usergroup. I imagine that wasn't such a great system for mods. Then came the voting and then one week each month we'd talk about nothing but clockification.
