Since I'm one of those guys who really does not like the look of modern 3D graphics, I tend to go towards the wonderful world of independent gaming when it comes to purchases.  Why?  Because the aesthetics are interesting, the experiments of creativity are carried and nobody seems to give two flying fucks about what the other guy thinks of you (especially when you don't have to meet a certain expectation).

Oh, and the prices are incredibly low on those games.

I picked up this game when it came out in the summer, and may I just say that I loved every second of it.  I highly recommend that you pick it up as well.  I would continue with the answer of "why", but then I would sound like an every day gaming journalist or a fanboy...and neither of those kinds of people make valid opinions anyway.  Have your personal experience with it.

For those of you who have played it, discuss.

EDIT:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZAuKkv4eZE 15 minutes of gameplay.  It's an action roleplaying game with a narrative behind it.  The graphics are entirely handpainted, and the game is linear in a sense.  However, you are granted multiple customization options and New Game + allows you to experiment with all the options.

Thor

It's amazing how you managed to not give any information at all about the game in 4 paragraphs.
I suppose it was more important for you to repeatedly justify your purchasing habits to us. <- sarcasm

Would you kindly give some information on what this game is, perhaps with images or links, as you should have done in the first post?

To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

Updated to meet post standards.

NintendrCkolc

I considered getting this but i'm not sold on it.

Also I don't agree that there is no creativity within modern games. Play Deus Ex. Despite the somewhat dated looking character models, it's still a beautiful game.

Sombra

I personally enjoyed Bastion, played it at a friend's place on his 360. The narration was cool although some might feel it tried a bit too hard to sound... gritty? I guess.

Combat was pretty fun and variable depending on what weapons you decide to use. Enemies were alright. The challenges were decent and they add some replayability. The art style was unique and reminded me of some old school PS1 RPGs. Not sure about game length as I only played it once for a night.

Overall from what I saw I'd say it's worth $20.

I think there's a demo you can try for free.

Thor

Reminds me of The Bard's Tale

F U Clock

Adrenaline told me to get it about 8 bajillion times and I haven't listened yet. But I'll need something new to play soon and this looks pretty coo... I enjoy discounted gaming as well, so that's a plus.

I never said there wasn't creativity with modern games.  I just want to gouge my eyes out every time I see graphics like the ones seen in Fallout 3 or Dragon Age.

Also, as stated in an earlier post by Sombra, there's a demo.
