I personally can't fucking wait. The campaigns for these games have never been short of breathtaking, and the multiplayer is addicting as fuck. On november 1st, I have no life anymore.

I love how you can't tell the difference between cutscenes and actual gameplay

Just picked this up and played for about 3 hours. Anybody else?

It has a lot to live up to with the last game being one of my favorite gaming experiences ever, but so far it's doing an amazing job. There hasn't been as much combat as the first game, but I just went through my first big set piece and it was more impressive than anything from 2 and I assume there'll be more just like it.

So far it seems to be exceeding Uncharted 2 in two ways: Graphically, both games are about as good as it gets, and this one is somehow even better. The lighting effects are ridiculous. When I got to France I had to pause the game and take camera-phone pics to send to my brother. The second way it's exceeding is in its ability to change gears at the drop of a hat. I don't want to ruin anything, so I'll just say one brief chapter in this game usually has a lot of different types of gameplay - combat, platforming, puzzle-solving, and again, amazing set pieces.

Buy it.

Why do americans say "addicting" instead of "addictive"? It's really weird.

Not all of us do... I blame addictinggames.com.

I think it might be because addictive is usually in reference to things that are physically addictive and has a negative connotation, and maybe "addicting" is for things like vidya games in which it's a good thing.

I see. That makes a bit of sense.

I really want Uncharted 3 but I'm forbidding myself from buying it until I completely exhaust Arkham City.

I'm waiting impatiently for next week's paycheck...

I am FOR SURE picking this up. Also, I recieved a code by email for uncharted 3 ( supposedly for playing the beta ). I wonder what it'll unlock!

Depends on what you did.  If you just downloaded the beta, you'll receive a U3 beta avatar.  If you completed 10 games of each competitive mode, you'll receive Beta Decal Pack #1.  If you completed 5 games of each co-op mode, you'll receive Beta Decal Pack #2.  If you reached level 25, you'll receive a cash bonus.

Also, the singer player campaign is fantastic.  Multiplayer is great too, I'm glad they decided to allow people to go into legacy mode (works like prestige in CoD).  For details, you can see all the answers here.

Agreed. Just finished it last night. Gotta say, the ending felt rushed so it leaves a bit of a bad taste in your mouth, but the other way to look at it is the end of U2:AT seeemed to drag a bit, and I remember feeling like, "Why do I still have to kill guys? Haven't I proven myself yet?" All in all, an equally good experience to playing the second game.

Also, started playing the co-op multi today with Adrenaline. I love survival mode. But holy shit those armor dudes are a pain in the ass.

It did indeed feel rushed, ND admitted that they should have worked on the project earlier and ended up having to release the game with a few bugs (which will eventually be patched in).  I was satisfied with the ending actually, but I was just only disappointed a bit.  I was mainly disappointed because:

A djinn wasn't fought or at least seen, it would have made for an epic last boss fight.

As for the 'brutes', you can melee them when the protective helmet comes off.  I'm not sure if you knew this or not already, but it is a pretty handy tip anyway.  By the way, what co-op mode you play?

To me the fire-demon dudes were enough of a Djinn-type of enemy. They weren't real, but it felt like they were, and I sort of like the pseudo-scientific explanation of it anyways. Felt a little less silly than the protects of Shambhala from 2. I guess I expected a little more out of the main villains themselves.

I forget the exact name... I thought it was co-op survival or something like that, but it's the one where you just survive waves of enemies and it goes between that and siege and usually a treasure hunt. Pretty fun as it becomes more and more impossible.

Mebbe if Adrenaline and I ever stop playing Skyrim we can do a three way. And then we can play Uncharted together (see what I did there?)!

Cool with me man, the Single player campaign is keeping me busy!

On that subject, this game is fucking exhilerating! It nevers FEELS like there's a dull moment, because there's always so much going on everywhere (the level design is FANTASTIC) and everything is super pretty to look at.

I've just beaten chapter 15 (the sinking boat chapter) and so far the game is one hell of a rush! As with every Uncharted game, the perfect hybrid of gameplay/animation in this game has been toned up another notch, and the amount of realism is just amazing (even if Nathan should've died thousands of time already).

The new melee system is a blast, Drake's character is so smoothly animated that it's a whole treat in itself and the story is AMAZING thus far. It's simply impossible NOT to care for the main characters as they all have something to contribute to the game.

Simply put: Uncharted 3 does what uncharted does best, and does it better. Again.

Yeah I thought the updated animations were really without match. I mean how the characters will put their hands up against walls as they walk past them... You can actually see the fabric on Drake's clothes bend and stretch as he turns/walks... I don't think I've seen that in another game.

And man, that whole pirate section of the game was killer. Haha, something about it being a videogame makes the ridiculous shit you do seem better than it would in a movie. If I saw the chateau scene in a movie I'd be like, fuck this shit. But in a game it is just intensely sweet.
