Somewhat, although the basic premise is the same.

Banana has been sent by the locks to seek the origin. A few key facts established in the 2005 version have been scrapped.

Well after much delay, I've managed to get together the key blend shapes and in-between targets for the character. His eye has 16 seperate controls I can mix to create a variety of emotions.

However right now, its a bit messy. I've just gone and straight used each defined blend shape to create this animation. As a result, you can see one or two expressions are a tad sloppy.

My next step will be to set up a simple driven key system, that with affect areas around the part you want to tweak, ever so subtly. I'd also like to implement a way to alter blend shapes slightly when the eye itself turns. For epic wins.

But in terms of developing this brow, I'm finally almost complete. Then its onto the tricky stuff.

As well as this, this is my first animated render with the current shaders. I'd say it looks alright in motion for now. I will eventually add some texture to the character though.

So now the next step is, getting a rig with controls ready for the eyelid... building up a complete clock character from the eyeball and giving it a skelenton, and squash/stretch controls. Then... the biggy. Scenery.

Oh dear lord.

Well the good news now is whether I not I make Bananabeard III, there will at least be some form of 3d clock movie like this in the future.

Gotten the rig together tonight. When I alter one control, the two next to it are also altered slightly, keeping it all smooth. The entire eye also now shifts when it looks in differnt directions... so the clock will always look fairly alive.

Only problem is I cant find an easy way to handle blinks, not yet. So I'm going to look into that. Then its onto actually sticking this face onto a full character, adding a deformable rig, then scenery =D
