What would you guys think of a single player version of TF2? Or some kind of online campaign? I think that would be pretty neat.
Examples of levels:
Be an engi with 10 sentry guns and you have to upgrade/fix them while a team of enemies try to storm your base.
Be a spy and sneak through an enemy base eliminating key opponents.
Be a spy and counter-sniper to allow your teammates into the enemy base.
Be a medic and take care of a squad of teammates to achieve your goal.

Also, a movie or series feature the characters. Valve seems to be good at this stuff (of course) and they have perfect voice actors and animation models. From what I've heard, you guys would gobble that up! :D

It reminds me a lot of the UMS maps on Starcraft and stuff.

I'd fucking love this to happen, but its never going to happen.
TF2 will remain TF2, sadly.

crock pot pot roadt

TF2 needs multiplayer with non-human players

Mangosteen Clock

Valve should throw the TF2 characters into HL2:EP3.

That's like Link in Resident Evil

DigitalLemonClock

I see no reason for any of that but there's nothing really stopping anyone from modding it though right?

I've been thinking about a singleplayer thing in TF2, and I've thought up that you could choose which team you go on and they do different missions against each other, including defending (or actually doing) a gigantic scout rush, but in the final mission a new corporation called GRAY rises up with super-strong robotic employees, effectively making RED and BLU out of business. Then RED and BLU have to sabatoge the factory together, and at the end when the factory is blowing up the R on a giant GRAY sign falls off for a second before the rest of the sign falls off.

Although this is just my silly idea.

TF2 series/movie wouldn't be good, you can't add a plot to them, they live in a land without plot.

Convicted criminals, released into a synthetic war zone to fight for the amusement of an evil, omnipotent queen.

Topcatyo

Who says it needs to have a plot?  Two sides fighting each other for some never explained reason with funny stories involving elaborate plans to take over the other base that end up failing because no one bothered to build a sentry.

PolyhedronClock

Yeah, there is a little plot to it. Alot the stages have that doomsday theme, Hydro housing nuclear warheads, Gravelpit's main base for red has a giant laser on it, and Dustbowl has a big missle at the main base.

LOL

Also, these characters are classic stereotypes perfect for making story-less comedy.

I'd like to see them even program bots smart enough to come up with strategies for a game with 8 classes.

It would be no different than proramming bots for a game with 16 ranged weapons, 8 melee weapons, and a builder.
