Slurpee

Quote from: Zombie Lincoln;1443775I've read a lot of the Flight anthologies.  I keep thinking your avatar is from one of those comics, Slurpee!  But I still haven't gotten the book out to confirm it.  If I'm right, that was one where I loved the artwork, but wasn't hit as strongly by the story..
Guilty. :3

If I recall correctly, this character is in two different volumes, and I wasn't quite taken with the initial appearance, but the one with the little robot in Volume 5 was just so gosh-darned cute.

Apparently he and the other guy he's always with have a one-shot comic book published through SLG.
I'm probably going to end up buying it out of a crippling adoration for stories about street urchins.

Blue

It makes alot more sense if you imagine that second thing he pecks at is some kind of acid.

The other comics are coo' too.

Yeah, this one in particular makes me chuckle.

Thor

Every time I see this thread title I think of Nerevarine Moon-and-Star
Quote from: MafiaMettaurWhat the hell is with that shit you posted? You know what, I'm joining the Locks, just to stop stuff like you!
Quote from: polyhedronclockYou're a fucking clock, what else do you have?
To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

SirClock

I like how reaction to this is completely split, and both sides just have nothing to say to defend their point.

I really don't see whats so great about this, as far as the simple cute no-dialogue "childrens book" approach to the comic, its not even original, this has been done thousands of times before and with much better stories and drawings.

(for example)

However, I do really respect this approach to creating a story and have to admit the comic expresses its emotion and feel appropriately.

Loki Clock

Quote from: HazardClock;1443684the people that didn't liked it are usually people that can't imagine a story as a whole

Yep. People who disagree with you are probably just stupid and don't get it. No one has a valid reason for not loving a meaningless feel-good wankfest about birds freeing their caged companions. Real birds are murderous, squabbling disease vectors. Also the moon does not love you and it does not want to comfort a sad bird. It is not wonderous and magical. It is a rock.

For a children's story this is a fine way to put them to sleep. For a grown human that doesn't need to be distracted with inoffensive coddling tales, it is despicable to consider it of any intellectual worth.

And if I put thought into a critical assessment it means I'm OUT OF CONTROL CRAZEE MADD, DAWG.

ChimeClock

well for one thing, you sound like someone who's been beaten up by his parents, or something similar

and I didn't read a post where someone praised it to high order, so it looks like you're overreacting to just a simple sequence of images

I can't tell if your I'm a edgy teen and contradicting to be funny, or just to be I'm a edgy teen and contradicting.
