Isn't santa claus the guy who died for our presents and punishes the naughty in the eternal fires of the north pole?

I heard that the fires are actually made out of ice there.
And your balls shrink so much, you might of thought they dropped off. You only know they're still there for evil frost elfs keep sack wacking you.

I've never heard of a kid killing someone over Santa.
lemayo lol :soups:

Quote from: Poltergeisty;1467515Santa only exists to brainwash kids into christianity anyway

Santa only exists as subject matter to Christmas specials from the 1960s.

You know what, I found out by my own personal judgment as I grew up that Santa Claus isn't real. Why can't we trust humanity to deal with its own shit?

Roman Collar Clock

Come to think of it, the first thing school administrations do is gas their teachers to death and cook them in ovens whenever they offend somebody in the slightest way.

It kind of makes me wonder why I ever wanted to teach in the first place.

I mean, aren't these people hanging this teacher out to dry friends with her?  Talk about back stabbing.

Have you not heard of The Clause Conflict? It only devastated the whole planet and created an egg nog shortage we are still feeling the effects of today.

I never understood people who see telling their kids about Santa as deceiving. It's stupid.
And it is not a teacher's job to tell otherwise, but firing her is a bit much.

Yes, telling a lie is telling the truth.

TheCheshireClock

It's not the truth, but I wouldn't call it a lie either. It seems too harsh. I'd call it telling them a fable, as if it were a truth. It is in the most technical sense, a lie, but believing in Santa never hurt me, or anyone I know. You took what I said out of context. What I meant was, I can't believe anyone could feel deceived by their parents for telling them about Santa. Like, in a negative way. I like Santa. In fact, I'm extremely happy my parents told me about Santa. I had fun as a kid, and it really helped me become the happy person I am today.

Ah, is it like that then.
If I ever have to be a witness for a trial, and for some reason I had to lie, and they found out, I'll just tell them I wasn't trying to deceive them, I just wanted to tell them a fable as if it was the truth!

Did not.

See, this is a gray area for me... One could argue to some that Santa Claus does exist, on numerous levels

Santa clause, or the man by his real name, does exist if you believe in an afterlife. If you believe one can see from heaven to earth (as in Christianity), than he can indeed see you when your sleeping, when your awake, when your bad or good... And if you believe in revelations, then he is indeed coming to town (figuratively speaking, of course).

Even if you aren't religious, the man named Saint Nicholas did in fact exist, and his remains do still exist to this day. And thus there is a Santa Claus.

I bet when you realized Santa wasn't real you were a little bitch about it. Or you never had Santa, so your a little bitch about it.

It's the same thing as telling them a bedtime story. If I were gonna tell my kids about Paul Bunyan, I wouldn't end the story with "and non of it actually happened!" Believing in faerie tales is one of the best parts of being a kid.

I never believed in santa, I did believe in saint Nicholas, and god but what did it matter?
All it proves to me is that I was dumb enough to believe a man could fit through a chimney, and another man created everything in 7 days and then solved every other problem by drowning aobout everyone.

But that doesn't mean you're telling the truth, which means you're atleast partially lying, which is still deceiving.

Smart kids figure it out when they see the presents under their parents bed/in their closet.

Or they just reach a certain age where it becomes obvious. at this point they either become a little bitch about it, or realize that their parents just wanted them to have a fun experience and move on with their lives.

Loki Clock

Let me put it this way: Santa is a pathetic, subversive visage of Odin. So by telling someone matter-of-factly that Santa doesn't exist, the point is that Odin doesn't exist. Now, you understand, you're actually treading on religious territory here. Most people defending the pagan holidays so vehemently don't understand this importance, but nonetheless, the tradition deserves to survive.

Still, threatening someone's livelihood for telling kids something they'll find out eventually is cruel and absurd.
