So I'm bored to the teeth with having short hair and want to grow it out a little. What are some things I should know for maintaining and caring for long hair?

Snake, so long as you wash it right and brush it once a day to keep it untangled you're good. Get it trimmed to reduce split ends and increase mineral distribution, it keeps the health of your hair up no matter what. Also, don't let it get so long that you feel you can no longer care for it, just go with what feels comfortable.
