Evolution is an important concept in many parts of our lives, be it biological or sociological. Today's writing contest topic is to write a story about evolution in any way it seems to apply, whether a story about a species across the grand epic of natural selection, or the more intimate evolution of one individual growing up or discovering himself.

I don't like imposing arbitrary limits like that. It's constricting. "Ooh shit I'd better watch my word count or Snake won't take my story!"

Also, my stories are typical short-story length. It's a bit odd that everyone else finds it so atypical.

But maybe I'll do it for a future contest, to see how it goes.

I just noticed the entries are due in two days. My, these two weeks went by so fast, I didn't even notice. How's everyone doing?

Shit, I was too busy to finish that re-write.

I'll extend the deadline a week, and try and keep everyone a bit more informed about it.
