Hello clock crew. my friend told me i should make an IM NEW post so here goes.

Im kryptoniteclock. i like to make on location films and frankly, im not the greatest animator. ive made 1 animation, and it sucked ass. Dont hesitate to give me tips!
I was told about this group by a friend and i thought i would join, since animation is always something ive wanted to try. im here to be your friend, so you wont see me swearing at you on the forums, take that as a plus!

Lol, that's pretty bad. But don't be discouraged. My first flash was worse than that. As was my second. Flash is tricky to pick up from my experience. It's a good idea to experiment and play around with the program when you're starting out. If you need help with it, you can always ask around the League of Extraordinary Animators forum or contact some of us over instant messengers.

protip: Don't animate speech bubbles being drawn, it just irritates the viewers and tests their patience. Unless, of course, that's what you're going for.

My guess is that you don't know much about tweens. Start using those, because when it comes to Flash, its as important as oxygen. Also, don't be afraid to speed up the frame rate.

I'd say layers are more important than tweens. Tweens you can live without, It just takes forever to animate without them.

But yeah, you need to know how to tween. It's impractical not to.

That does sounds hilariously noobish, but I'll tell you.

A tween is basically an animation path that's generated by Flash. What you do is you click an object and set its keyframe in the timeline: that's where the tween starts. You make another keyframe further down the timeline and then move the object somehow; that's the end of the tween. You make the tween between the keyframes, and the object moves.

Flash should have a built-in tutorial about it, if you care to look.
