As crazy as it sounds not EVERYBODY has the same taste in art as you do. Some people don't like the style of graffiti vandals, especially considering that a large part of how much you can enjoy art depends on your perception of it (in this case it is correctly considered to be an asshole thing to do, making people hate it on principle)

hi I'm splatter clock and I assume that everybody likes same art as I do. I mean, how can somebody NOT like bright neon colors, horribly distorted facial features, and messy looking (although probably intentional) runny ink lines. In fact they love it so much they would prefer it over having a clean city and want to be forced to see it every day. It is the perfect art style that nobody can dislike.

Shocking as it sounds most people do not have an identical taste in art as you. Many people would rather have a blank wall than a picture in a style they find repugnant.

PRACTICAL EXAMPLE: the clock crew likes art right? So why don't we put some high quality ANIME images in the forum background? If they don't like it they must hate art!

I like tags. It's cool to see the same guy's tag around the city. It's like following the tracks of a deer with a tricloven hoof. Also, typography is an art, too, and taggers often take pains to make the typography of their tag unique.

I'm really not taking sides on this, but I lived in downtown Rochester for the last two years and that's not exactly your typical graffiti. If you had a bunch of spray-painted hard-to-read catch-phrases in black, that'd be more appropriate.

I apologize, that was a bit of a shitty post. The thing is I'm not really arguing, just stating that I think graffiti can be the most beautiful, expertly done art around, whatever art is.

Sure, it costs up to billions yearly for buffers to remove and  I'm not denying this. The truth is when it comes to arguments like these there will always be those who will shun graffiti, and those who will praise it.

I don't see any real point to arguing over this just like I don't see any real point to arguing over things like whether or not drugs are bad for you. State your opinion and leave it at that, because I doubt anyone in here will change each others views on how bad or good graffiti is.

Hell yes there's a point. Things like cocaine can kill people, and are obviously harmful.

Graffiti requires removal, and thus harms a city's budget.

I am in no way equating paint removal to od'ing, I'm just saying how drugs is a horrible example.
