I was just coming here to say we didn't have enough, because the comic book forum hasn't been made, and here comes the lovely pirate clock. Great idea buddy!

juke box with studio
programmers den with computer crap
pokemon battle area with the dark room and artists lounge

Quote from: ☠PirateClockIsBanned☠;1689389Although i think i have suggested merging the cooking, sports and health forum into a "lifestyle" forum which could also include stuff like clothes (or things like the Watch thread) and alcohol/drug related threads. Basically anything that isn't art or media and doesn't belong in general. Which i still think is a neat idea.  Also maybe ad like /Comics to Literature (Literature/Comics) to stimulate comic discussion in that thread or something.

I think these two ideas combined would make for the ideal solution

Pokemon battle arena should stay separate, as it has fairly high traffic.

I already said this to you last night but I'm repeating it for everyone else.

I think that the forums should be cut down to the following.

General
Flash
Arts
Gas Chamber
Spam

I don't see why we can't talk about non-flash, non-art based things in the general forum and just let it sink down overtime. Plus we never really had enough traffic to where an overcrowding of forum posts would become an issue. This would also slow down the bumping of long dead threads while bringing a new clear focus to the CC.

blah blah stuff

I feel like the amount of activity that the TV and Video Games forums warrant would be unnecessary traffic for General. It would get a little chaotic at times with threads getting bumped all over. I like the forums the way they are, honestly. I don't see the problem with having a lot.

Came here to post something to this effect, but I would add the lifestyle forum that Pirate mentioned.

Is there a way we could have every thread in each subform of a main forum appear on the same page? Say if you clicked on the lifestyle forum, you would see each current thread in sports, clothes, drugs etc, and at the top of the page you'd see the different subforums and clicking on those would filter it to only show threads in that subforum.

That's the idea I posted. This would be the best solution, but the coding will be a bit challenging.

Quote from: CadillacClock;1689460That sounds like a whole lot of cluster.

Not really, Sounds fine to me. Or we could just institute a category system and allow you to search for something posted in that category in said forum.

VirusClock

Quote from: CadillacClock;1689460This doesn't seem necessary with a forum the size of the Clock Crew, with the given activity. Tags, which I assume you would use, are also incredibly garrish.

Let's say you click on Arts; it would take you a forum that displays everything under arts, including sub-forums. There would be a menu option to unselect certain forums (let's say the Pokemon Forum), so everything would still be shown, except posts made in the Pokemon Forum.

The thing is, we'd have 4-7 forums, and each forum would have their own topics that are displayed as one and may be filtered.

I dunno, i think that sounds fabulous. However the work might not even be able to be done in vBulletin. Maybe we should look it up to see if its even worth the labor.

Quote from: clammo;1689471there has to be a tag for stupid threads so i can filter out threads like this one

As strange as it sounds, that could be worked in, if a mod thinks a thread is I'm a edgy teen, they click it. you can filter out dumb threads.

Because it's too hard to simply ignore such threads?

GUYS WE MUST HAVE QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

VirusClock

Quote from: clammo;1689578its about as hard as it is for you to ignore forums that arent as active as general faggotry

So you want to keep the useless forums for what reason?
